kasgaran.. but are we sure na kana sila engineers ron kay against? hmmmm have they once ever stood up against the government...Originally Posted by cebugdev

Potential health effects
Methane is not toxic; however, it is highly flammable and may form explosive mixtures with air. Methane is violently reactive with oxidizers, halogens, and some halogen-containing compounds. Methane is also an asphyxiant and may displace oxygen in an enclosed space. Asphyxia may result if the oxygen concentration is reduced to below 19.5% by displacement. The concentrations at which flammable or explosive mixtures form are much lower than the concentration at which asphyxiation risk is significant. When structures are built on or near landfills, methane off-gas can penetrate the buildings' interiors and expose occupants to significant levels of methane. Some buildings have specially engineered recovery systems below their basements to actively capture such fugitive off-gas and vent it away from the building. UP professors dispute methane gas angle in Glorietta blast

MANILA, Philippines -- The damage wrought by the blast at the Glorietta 2 mall on Friday is too huge to be attributed to a methane or diesel explosion, according to two chemical engineering professors of the University of the Philippines.
Professor Ernesto dela Cruz, chair of the UP Department of Chemical Engineering, Tuesday said methane could explode but that it was not likely to cause a tank of diesel to explode.
“It would require some time to heat the diesel up, cause it to vaporize, and explode,” Dela Cruz said Tuesday in an interview.
But then again, he said, “there should be a sufficient amount of [methane to cause the explosion], and then a spark should be present to cause the ignition.”
now that's what im talking about...Originally Posted by slakker

diesel genset was at the basement + no vent as stated by the investigator...
no vent = no way out methane + diesel genset could ignite a spark when starting it.
calculation:
no vent + genset starting = B O O M?
point 2 = let them eliminate that theory for it might be mere negligence on the CITY Engineers' side..
Negligence = distrust to some other establishments...
distrust = chaos
if ever the cause is not that then lets proceed to bombing...
point 3 = bombing - no sign of fragments (stated by the NBI) = cover up and more distrust to gov't authority...
still the outcome would be the same... deaths
not all up people are so called "rallyista"... up is still under the goivernment... kung terrorist na threat ngano kato raman? dile man daghan ilang gi bombahan?
Sen Trillanes accused the govt.of trying to divert the attention of people to the glorietta bombing so that the Malacanang can escape the bigayan accusation of the Governors.Findings of the PNP differs with findings of the bomb experts in UP.NOw the League of Governors admitted that they are responsible for the 500,000 bigayan .Question is...Whos telling the truth? How about the Congressman ?who gave them the money? In the Glorietta bombing..Is it accidental?or made by Demons.?
The Glorietta bombing could not be from terrorist act but from faulty engineering set-up of Glorietta's basement. Glorietta management made a public announcement about the probable cause. Of course, di jud cla mo ingon nga faulty enginnering kay probably dili sila mabayran sa insurance. then the "explosion" resulted to several deaths. Glorietta could be blamed for all the liabilities resulting from the damage, the management might be brought to a litigation. Of course, the management and Glorietta are in business and they want to incur less expenses as much as possible.
Probability ra na. Pero based lang sa mga reports sa newspaper, explosion from faulty engineering weighs more kay sa terrorism bombing as the more possible cause.
just my imagination bro, we really cant tell hangtud naa nay facts. if ever man gyud gani accidental. there is another angle that brought to my mind. wat if its done by a professional or professionals? i mean, the blast could make it look like an accident. just like a perfect crime where the murder is made to look like a suicide.Originally Posted by janhenz

precisely my point - we really can't tell hangtud naa nay facts,Originally Posted by giddyboy
to dismiss one angle as 'impossible' wont help in finding out the truth.
I doubt if it's a well done crime. Absent any evidence, how can we prove such?
But as they say, bomb or no bomb, we should all be careful. We don't know if this is done by someone who wants to destabilize the government or just mere accident. The theory of Senator Trillanes, without any sufficient proof, is simply unacceptable. We should know that we cannot just blame the government.
