Hahaha, I've only attended once, which is why I don't consider myself worthy of being a member of this club yet-- based on attendance, hehehe.

Hey, folks, it's really good to meet with you all again but Sunday is just next to impossible. Last time I showed up on a Sunday, I moved heaven and earth-- don't know if I can duplicate that again, hehehe.

    Peace.

    Sadly, no more.

did you publish a work jud?
Of course. It's there in the blog. We published a total of three comic-books, namely Slick Ink Comics #1, Memento Mori #2 and Winged Harmony #3. All three were printed in risograph and were the size of an 8 1/2" X 13" bondpaper that is half-folded crosswise. Slick Ink Comics #1 composed of Journey to New Earth #1 and Memento Mori #1. Heck, there's still a lot of copies of all issues left. If you're interested in buying, just send me a private message and we'll take it from there.

Especially if your comic-books are for free, I wholeheartedly agree. Like I parroted a lot of times before, unless your bank account is bottomless or know someone else with that sort of account, it'll catch up on you.

But I'm not so sure with the case of the Su.Ko.L., though. With the number of issues and copies this group gave to the masses for free in a span of, what, five years (?), I suspected that financing, from my observer's point of view, factored the least in its ending.

The situation with S.L.I.C.K.! was closer to Popcorn than Su.Ko.L. in that both groups sold printed copies. With S.L.I.C.K.!, we sold copies because we didn't want to totally rely on sponsors. We were just contented with the minimum number of copies (500, that is) to dispose of and more concerned with breaking even (having sold about three-fourths of 500, that is), rather than making a profit, because to break even is to be able to afford printing the next 500, obviously.

Without dismissing the likelihood that our stories and illustrations sucked to death and other incriminating facts, it was probably because of how bad the selling went-- even at such cheap prices --that the members were discouraged the most from continuing. And discontinue, they did (snicker).

    Peace.

In my arrogant opinion, "Tapol" is a decision, not a disease, hehehe.

Oy, here's a cornier title: "Sumpaylanon", from the word "sugilanon".

Bitaw, make it a comic strip with (at most) three panels to make the commitment less unattainable (snicker). This could be fun, y'know (and a great excuse for me to practice emulating Jae Lee's art in "Dark Tower" and the dodge-and-burn technique of transforming a pencilled drawing into an inked one digitally).

    Peace.

Really? You can make ink drawings on your pencils using those tools?

Hmm, is "making a pencilled drawing look like it's been inked" what's on your mind? If so, yeah. I viewed a Photoshop tutorial video on digital inking that demonstrated this technique with remarkable results.

Now the pencilled drawing was really tight in the first place, such that all a non-digital inker had to do was merely trace. I don't think it would work well for loose pencilled drawings, especially if there isn't that much contrast between the final lines and the construction lines.

    Peace.

What if Gerry Alanguilan is now professional in on Photoshop? I don't think he'll be out of job. I still prefer to do it old school but moving to digital world.. well... let's just say that I have to adapt on all kinds of media.

Hahaha, true, true. Oh, well, advances in technology always kill some jobs and create others as well. Next thing you know, humans ain't necessary anymore (gulp). Scribes must have been really pissed off when the printing press was invented.

    Peace.
