Oh ok. By the way sir, can u expound more on giving her a good foundation? Would it include socializing or walking? As of now i let my kids play with her but with my supervision since she tends to bite their clothing, slippers, hands, legs, etc.. I know the puppy just wants to play but i just don't want the kids to have bruises or something. Your inputs would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
In giving good foundations not only with Belgian Malinois but also in our breeds. Aside from giving them a good nutrition and regular check up with their veterinarian. Its also important to condition their mind and character. Its like giving and teaching good manners with alittle kid.
First, malinois is know to be agile and highy prey drive breed. Most of the times they love running around and going after to any moving object. Because at such age, their curiosity makes their drive freak out. Most people don't understand them at all and in short they mishandle the dog.
At early age(at least 6 weeks). You should start introducing them with different sounds..objects..people..vehicles and surface. In socialization, do not over socialize your pup if your plan to train him as a personal protection dog someday. Make sure you introduce your pup with your kids and all the your family members. Allowing them to feed the puppy personally and play with them. Make sure your always around to supervise. Never allow your puppy pet by strangers to avoid puppy confusions. Don't allow strangers play with them. Unless they are kids. If your puppy fond of biting dresses, skirts or pants. Never scold or shout the puppy. It developed trauma at early stage. Just ignore the pup or give him a toy to divert the attention.
One important thing also, if you allow your pup play with your kids. Make sure the pup already have the anti-rabies shot for safe keeping. Same time tell your kids not to shout or lay a hand on the pup if the pup made something wrong. Just avoid and say "No".
I hope I able to answer your concerns. Please don't hesitate to ask more..
