Sa dihang mikayab ngadto sa langit si Jesus Christ, niingon ba siya sa iya mga apostoles, " Pag himo mo ug Bible unya mao ni sunda. Gawas sa Biblia way kamatooran." Niingon ba si Jesus ana?

Anyone who goes beyond the teachings of Christ does NOT have God. - 2 Jn 9 (TEV)

Look into the book of the Lord. For nothing is lacking - Isaiah 34: 16
Very prophetic written even before the time of Christ.

If anyone adds to this book, God will add to him the plagues described in this book - Rev. 22: 18

If we or an angel in heaven preaches to you a Gospel other than the one already preached, let him be accursed - Gal. 1: 8

We are writing these so that you may know the meaning of the saying "Do not go beyond what is written" - 1 Cor. 4: 6

God sends in them the strong power of error so that they will believe the lie and those who did not love the truth will be destroyed. - 2 Thes. 2: 11, 12

The entirety of His Word is Truth - Ps. 119: 160

Heaven and earth will pass away. But my words will not pass away - Matt 24: 35

Marian apparitions. Lourdes. Akita. Garabandal. Guadalupe. Fatima. Medjugorge. Jasna Gura among those miracle sites that are proliferating.
The bleeding Eucharist... in this sinful generation, is the Blessed Virgin trying to awaken us from our spiritual slumber?

Bible prophecy researcher and SVD Brother Frederico Lasala investigates the meaning of these supernatural phenomena:

these are sites from the Catholic website. they have the Bible scriptures needed to support everything.

    on praying to saints:

    http://www.catholic.com/library/Pray...the_Saints.asp
    http://www.catholic.com/library/Saint_Worship.asp

on the claim that Catholics worship statues:

    http://www.catholic.com/library/Do_C...ip_Statues.asp

i am a Catholic. i am proud to be one. there may be flaws in my religion (as other religions have), but my faith (as taught in my religion) is not flawed. i have gained strength in faith and hope and love to HIM that gave me life.

    Praying to Saints

It is in the time to come when the Revelation will be fulfillled not on the present day. No line in the scripture (KJV) that talks about saint worship. In Revelation it talks about things to come. Saints are those who have Christ in their hearts. It not need any permission from anyone. If you read the letters of the Bible they usually start off with "To the Saints." These means, that Saints are not dead people. They are the living ones who live the Christian way. In Revelation this is time when all the Saints (after the rapture) congregate.

    Statue Worship

In the website you gave it gave a weak support. This is a special instruction from God to David about the Covenant. It was still during the Old Testament. The Covenant was necessary then. In the New Testament it all changed because of Jesus Christ. This is not a strong support on statue worship. It is clearly stated in the 10 commandments.

I am a former Catholic and I've known some truths that are totally flipped. But what other forumers have posted, no religion can save you. Salvation is accepting Christ as personal Saviour and Lord. God Bless!

Sala ba diay ang muagi ug lain? Â* Â*John 14:6 "Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." Â*Kun muagi ug lain, di ka kaabot sa saktong padulngan. Â*Kun muhapit ka ug lain, basin mahutdan ka ug oras. Â*Karon ang saktong takna para maluwas ka.

Â*Mao nga when it comes to religion, bibliya dayon ang defensa kay nakabasa man sa bibliya. Â*Mao sad sa ila ni Dacs ug houndedbyheaven.

You probably don't know that all Catholic doctrines are backed by Bible passages. You can search them if you really want to find out. I am not a devout Catholic, I share some of your disagreements when it comes to our doctrines.

The forming of religions based on individual's interpretation of the Bible was born with Martin Luther King. I know I'm sighting protestantism here but most of the 33,000+ religions, each interpreting the Bible differently say that they are guided by the Spirit. Clearly it is impossible for this chaos to have come from God.

But there was a church which existed before the Bible. This, soulshocked you should know. You might think like everyone does, that Bible comes synonymous with faith. Nope, it took centuries before the first Bible was every compiled after the death and resurrection of Christ. However, in between that time, there already was a church, a church of believers of Jesus the son of God, the very first listeners of the Apostles, and their descendants.

For me basing everything in the Bible is fallible. For one, only a few chose which books should be included and which not. And.... the church which existed long before the Bible was ever compiled, was the true church. The church that Jesus told Peter to build. The church of believers who were taught by Peter, Paul, and the other Apostles who scattered far into the world. Unscathed by human intervention, manipulation, and orchestration.

But like you said about "standard" the Bible serves a very good guide to faith and discipline, yes. The Bible serves the purpose of making the scriptures both the old and the new become available to present time believers. But like I said, not synonymous to faith. Coz long before there was the Bible there already was Christian faith, faith in Christ.

I don't believe in dogma insisted by a church, because their dogma is their dogma, not all God's. Having a religion is not bad, sa asa ra gud ta ma at peace, asa molambo atong faith, but to totally do everything the church tells us to do... the religious leaders in particular... we don't really have to.

The Bible? I don't believe everything the Bible says, nor do I consider comments quoted from the Bible especially them ones which have contradictions... I believe in the new testament, Jesus the son of God. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Let's not fight here. Richard is a very intelligent man that's why he asked his questions. Lahi lahi gyud ta asa ta makakaplag ug pagtoo o kumonidad nga ma kontento ta. There are other sects in the Catholic like missionaries, nuns who run orphanages or home for the aged, let's not judge a religion if we don't know everything. Although Richard is right, about the Sunday masses and the wale's... But there are other sects that if try them, they might answer our long for knowledge and wisdom, and contentment. Let me add Charismatic.

@unofficialplayer - is your gaining faith and strenght lead you to salvation? Â*To each his own. Â*We are individually responsible. Â*The Church will not cover for us, Christ already did. Â*

I know some of the Catholic doctrines are backed up by the Scriptures.Â* I am a former Catholic myself.Â* I respect your beliefs and arguements about the Bible and it's a good thing that savlation is a personal choice or matter.Â* I agree, it's not bad to have religion.Â* But basing salvation to religion and vice versa...I don't believe in that.Â* And yep!Â* I know about the very first church.Â* They were not called Christians then.Â* It was a good thing.Â* The only people who called them Christians were the ones opposing to them.Â* Well I am not creating a fight here.Â* This is a discussion, right?Â* Then people should be open to it.Â* I am open to it.Â* You hit me with something, I look it up.Â* I try to study it try to ask other people, search the scriptures...and if what I have back then was wrong..then I'll change it.Â* It is a process.Â* We should not come here with our hearts and minds closed already on what people have to say.Â* If that's the case, there's no use in posting in here.Â* I have my own beliefs on the Bible, you have, they have.Â* Let's respect that and let's respect on what people have to say.Â* I believe that the Bible is authentic and true.Â* Some don't.Â* No need really to start a fight.Â* I know people here are intelligent and have the right to speak there minds.Â*

soulshocked, very true, I respect your stand on your beliefs as well. Hey, we're Christians in the first place!

I didn't really mean you about the fight, if we read previous posts, you know what I mean.

But you know, this thread is supposed to be addressed to Richard, whatever happened to him? Did he find the truth for himself yet? =D I'll be glad to see his reply.
