If you are still young , after you acquire your CPA certification you may apply in any of the LARGE CPA FIRMS (EY, DnT, KPMG) whose experienced auditors normally get approached for job offers abroad. In recent years, I heard that on the average they were losing 10% to 20% of their staff to these employers.Originally Posted by mjavelon
If the reason to look for a job abroad is in order to acquire a better pay , it may be well to keep in mind that a CPA needs other skills aside from a sound knowledge of accounting some of these are :
1) Communication skills -verbal and written
2) A CAN DO ATTITUDE
3) A more than intermediate knowledge in EXCEL the universal tool of an accountant with applications in Finance and operations
4) Sophistacation - ie. a lot of EQ, the ability to carry on an intellilgent conversation, abreast with current events, basic etiquette and a lot of diplomacy
Yes the above requires a large investment but not necessarily in money but more of time. I mean we all have choices, to watch marimar for an hour or to read the business news for an hour, to spend money on gimmicks or to save for an Excel course/book.
To all of us may ladyluck shine on our dreams. Good luck to all!
