Seriously, we rily just cant predict wen things could go wrong,. even how hitech or how well
maitain the facilities,. the fact is that things could happen where you least expected it.,
Just be thankful that despite what happened you're still live and kick'n..
Enjoy Life..life rocks..
@ TS, if I were with you guys on the elevator together with Zhadd (this is Zhadd LP right? Hi Zhadd!), I would have calmed everybody down. All of you were practically safe.
The SOP of an elevator when it fails, normally is to take the cabin back to the ground (the last ground ) so that's why the cabin went to the basement. The cabin did not even open its doors on either floors because this will make it unsafe. If it opened on the 11th floor, I'm 100% sure that all of you will panic to go out and might be crushed since the cabin will still be going down. Its a good thing not one tried to manually open the door and tried to open the overhead service panel just like in the movies.
At that time, the elevator was using its "engine brakes", the cables are intact because if the cabin is cruising faster, then it will be using its mechanical brakes. (it will always be not electrical brakes that is used for elevators)
and don't mind to sue them, you won't get even a dime for it. Since the elevator has a safety feature that never fails under "normal failure conditions" (kai naa man abnormal like naay ni tamper sa brakes)
The sad thing lang is that, y'all were not even explained/ let y'all calmed down.
For me, dako pa chances mamatay ka riding a motorcycle that an elevator. Every time I ride a motorcycle is always a near death experience for me... I crashed thrice in my lifetime.

wataru, thanks for sharing. Based on my own experiences, I definitely agree with you that their management team is below average.
