I strongly believe that the problem is the lack of love for our country. we were rich before than our nieghboring countries, but look at us now. we should work not only for ourselves but for our nieghborhood and country as well. most of us after getting education wants to go abroad, why would they leave their own country? lack of love for the country. it's the same concept here in our city. you can see squatters all over the place, at the shoreline, by the river banks in every vacant space. well in fact, those people are not from our city. they're from other provinces and other towns. few are tending the ricefield, few are planting rootcrops and vegies. they don't love thier province or towns anymore. they all go to the big cities believing that they'll do good but sad to say, they're not.
Filipinos who are working abroad, they don't want to come back anymore. they don't have love for our country or shall we say lack of love for the country. i can't blame them for doing that, with our present problems, corruptions in the government, who wants to anyway? but for me, it's wrong.
teach our children first to love the country. love our country first and we'll stop and solve poverty..

Poverty is economics, the solution is economics. Use politics to enforce economic theory (hyperwage)

Whatever form of govt, if the janitor gets P270/.day he will still be poor forever unless he wins Lotto. Hyperwage affects 100% of the people. It is one simple solution but the accepting its simplicity is hard. Bec you are expect the solution to be a complex one.

Every country has its own level of corruption but in First World countries, the waiter can still afford to buy something \and even send some cash back to Phils.

Agree with that. Also, strong governance and a good leader.

government as we know it is actually a ‘parent’ corporation to all the other corporations working within the country’s economy. This, of course, makes sense for the value of any nation is really determined by the state of its economy. This means the government has a ‘”Vested Interest” in the economic state of its nation, most specifically those within their own class - the rich upper class.

higher wages in not a solution to a poverty. I know some people who are working with high wages you could ever imagine and yet their life is still in financial turmoil.

I agree with the Idea that we must first start with ourselves and that means having educated first. when I say education, I'm not talking about the specialize education we get in schools, colleges, and universities. "education is knowing what you know and what you don't know" --- Confucius said.

please don't blame other people in your misery. maybe some politician are making the things worse but for me they are only doing a little part of it. we are the creator of out fortune. a lot of pinoys are in poverty for the reason that their action is towards poverty. they always blame other people, the politician, their parents, their leaders, their bosses etc. that is why we came up with two people power revolution and still a 3rd world country.

most pinoys are poor because they think "poor" or the other way to say is they have a mindset of the poor.

If you want to end poverty in Philippines. I suggest start educating yourself. eliminate the greed and fear emotion within yourself. these two emotion are the primary reason why some people are not acting(cause by "fear"-- which means doing nothing in their life, they are contented of what they are but deep inside they are just afraid) and overacting(cause by "greed"--- people are overacting..always embrace their "wants" even it will lead to future problem. greed is the reason in the current financial crisis)
