well, dugay naman ni nga thread noh...

pero it is interesting to know the culture of frats nowadays from a neuro-scientific perspective...and OMG!!! it is factual! mind u, you have to do your own independent, unbiased neurological tests first before you dispute her results...

if mo-base ta sa psychological perspective, the need for affiliation & group identity is universal & somehow a basic human need. feelings of empathy, guilt, conscience, will finally lead to morality, therefore in this case, group morality, which will also lead us to in-group morality or under anthropological perspectives...

and based on an evolutionary/biological perspective, Man has the natural tendency for violence since the stone-age. Well, until we discovered the word "civility"...

now how about our religion perspective? well, as mostly Christians and having our Moral Codes & Ethics, it is a sin to hurt or harm another person. but in the case of frat's hazing & related violence, this perspective becomes almost NULL & VOID...

political perspective? need i say more?...

    peace mga brod!!!

    yehey!! wohoo!!!
I did that because I was curious. What's wrong with that? Just like playing basketball. How would you know how to play basketball if you haven't tried it yourself..

Maria Isabel Garcia's opinion is just a 'maybe' for me. Do all fraternities have hazing? I mean, did she even check all the fraternities in the world? My mom joined a fraternity/sorority for doctors when she was still in college. An exam was their mode of acceptance. They even have a handshake. Their group is still active even now. Does she fell into the same category as described in the first page?

Now, i have a tito who is a priest. He said that priesthood is a fraternity. Does he fall into the same category as well? Well how about Boy Scouts of the Philippines? There are lots of fraternal groups in BSP. hehe.

The reason why I rate Maria Isabel Garcia's opinion as a 'maybe' because you can never generalize the fraternities, IMHO.

Peace ninyo tanan. wala lang tay awayay ha, istorya ra btaw ni atoa. hehe. mayta dili ta parehas sa first page ani nga thread daghan kau saway dayun.

naay mga tarong nga fratman. dili tanan ang amaw. and katong tarong, they are the ones trying to revive what their organization has lost.
If all frats and fratment think like this. what a peaceful world we would live in.

basta for me, daghan (and i do not mean all) mo-apil-apil ug frat para makapang-hinambug...you know, the ego-trip that comes from belonging somewhere and being, for once in their lives, 'cool'...attitudes common to losers...

decent people dont have to get beat-up (and beat up other people) in order to achieve that feeling of belongingness
