I don't like fish. That's an odd thing for someone who raises and breeds bettas to say but it's true. I find fish tanks smelly, noisy, messy to clean, and most fish, although they can be attractive, are boring because unlike cats or dogs they don't interact with their keepers. So, what's different about bettas?

The main difference is that unlike most fish, bettas will interact with their keepers. When I come over to one of my bettas, instead of blankly swimming around, more often than not he or she will face me and study me as much as I do him or her. I put my finger to the tank and it'll be examined. I've even trained my some of my bettas to be fed by hand. They actually jump out of the water to snatch food off the end of a toothpick. But most interesting of all is that although they don't have any facial muscles, they none-the-less manage to assume expressions that tell me just what they're thinking. No one who has kept bettas can fail to recognize that look of disgust they have when fed the wrong food or are simply fed up with their keeper. Equally so, there is no mistaking the bright look they assume when vanquishing a foe in a neighboring tank or snapping up a mosquito larvae.

Add to this their unsurpassed beauty and ease of care and you have a fish that even a fish tank hater like myself is helpless to resist.

the local one for my 3 kids..am interested with ur betta fish if mamaligya naka bro papalita sad

Sure bai no problem if ever I get to raise them to get around 2 mos...

By the way, I bought mine from Dumoy Betta Club, Toril Davao City... ^^

Coincidence mark coz yesterday, my HM male spawned with the second female and my CT spawned today... Ako g dungan in case kaonon balik sa male CT iyang eggs, ako ipa surrogate hatch sa HM... But of all the luck, he learned from his first spawning and as of now; is diligently watching over the eggs...

I expect the HM eggs to hatch tommorrow...

Ahh the first batch of HM fries...hehehe going to its 2nd week and 3 days now... Down to 21 fries (last time I counted, haven't found a casuality since)... hehehehehe

Damn, I didn't know what went wrong but they started dying... Probably because the tank was too small (tank I used that time was the male's display tank)... Probably because of ammonia poisoning... Too excited the first time... Karon 2nd time around I made use of my 10 gallon tank for the CTs and a large ice bucket for the HMs...

Anyways, the remaining fries from the first batch are healthy and well fed with daphnias... Well, they should be healthy... When it comes to Bettas, only the strong survive and make it to adulthood...

Hehehe been busy sa Sports & Recreation section coz of the NBA playoffs hehehe... Medyo hilom naman gud and thread... ^^

I'll try to post pics as soon as I get my phone back... Loaned it to the boss...^^
