SanDisk and Sony jointly announced today the formation of an all-new Memory Stick format, tentatively dubbed “Memory Stick format for Extended High Capacity.” Impressively, the new-found technology will allow for the creation of flash-based media with up to 2TB of storage capacity.
Also announced was the “Memory Stick HG Micro,” a successor to the M2 Micro series of Memory Sticks. Featuring an 8-bit parallel interface and increased clock frequency, HG Micro sticks will boast a theoretical transfer speed of 60MB/s.
No release date was provided for general retail availability, however, format licensing will open to interested parties later this year.

Sony today announced that it is launching two brand-new PSP colors to the Asian market on January 15. These decidedly gorgeous shades have been named “Radiant Red” and “Vibrant Blue.” Each will carry a standard price tag of $1,380 HKD (US $177).
The kicker? Sony has no plans to release these two beauties outside of Asia at the moment. Who knows, though, perhaps a surprise announcement is in store at this year’s CES. Rolling out new colors would certainly go a long way to help spice up the PSP’s image in North America. After all, not counting bundle packages, we’ve been stuck with the same colors for years.

At CES, Sony revealed something interesting for the PSP version of Resistance: A new Infected mode will arise when you connect a PSP to a PS3 with a copy of Resistance 2. This will allegedly 'infect' the PSP version of Resistance with a new storyline, new Spectre uniform, new .44 magnum and access to new single player areas.
