I work in a bank and our ATM Center just sent us an email about this issue. They sent us captured shots (at least in one of the banks that were affected) sa CCTV kung kinsa mga tawhana nag pa si ugda ani. They are foreigners. 3 sila kabuok.

Sa among branch 20 clients were affected thankfully wala na kuhaan ilang mga balance kay abtik kau among ATM center pag block sa ilang ATM cards. Their ATM cards will be replaced for free and usually if Skimming, RUSH jd na. Dili na xa dapat ma abtan ug 2-3 weeks.

Tips to avoid ATM card skimming:
1. Our first line of defense is TO COVER THE KEYPAD WHEN WE ENTER OUR PIN & CHANGE IT REGULARLY. Pwede pud after nimu i input imung PIN trapohi ug tissue ang keypad para dili nila ma trace ang fingerprint kung asa or unsa nga numbers imung g enter.
2. CHECK THE ATM before withdrawing. If naay luag nga part, especially sa card reader dapit then DON'T CONTINUE TO WITHDRAW.

> Our ATM is an NCR model the one with the GREEN LED light. Ang kanang green led light hayag kaau na siya. Naay uban skimmers, ilahang sapawan ang kanang sudlanan sa card (kanang round shape gani) maong dili na au hayag ang green led light.

> Also kilid sa kanang sud lanan sa card (the green round card reader if NCR ang model) naa nai hologram. Kandado nga hologram. Dapat visible na siya kaau.

It is also better to know the hotline sa ATM CENTER sa INYUNG BANK because they are the ones who have the capability TO IMMEDIATELY BLOCK YOUR ATM CARDS if you think naay fraudulent transactions sa imung account. I'm not sure if toll free ang uban pero may nalang mawad an ug long distance charges kaysa mawala imong thousands nga g save sa imung ATM savings account.

if proven nga na biktima ka sa skimming kai i.uli ba kaha sa bangko ang imung kwarta?

Naa koy kaila, 100k ang nakuha. Ang card naa sa Leyte, ang nag withdraw naa sa Manila. G uli in installment sa bank.

what im doing the past months since i heard of these schemes is load my enrolled bdo cashcard from bdo's internet banking with just enough for little emergencies. akong gitago lang jud akong atm and use my cash card for atm transactions. anyway real time man and free ang pag load sa cash card thru internet banking.

this is alarming .i hope the police will catch the persons involve in this one .daghan mabiktima mga luoy intawn kaayo ila hard earned money mawa ra tungod ani na modus .

The banks should exert more efforts in catching these culprits. They owe it to their loyal depositors. Because these crimes were already rampant in Manila they should have taken precautionary measures so this will not happen in Cebu.
