@icysunitz: it is most likely hardware na and one or more of the pins that detects the sim, could be bent, damaged or missing. If it's still covered by warranty sa Globe then they could but dli gyud, just drop by and I can check and see what I can do about it

usually restore alone won't work for the iPhone 3G since most, if not all, require hacktivation to work, you're going to need to restore using a custom firmware made by sn0wbreeze then unlock using ultrasn0w. i've also replied to your pm.
