Christopher Lao asked apolo---- for his behavior but nothing was stated that he admitted his mistakes. He actually considered this incident as a mishap, i.e. an accident, while in fact this incident and finger-pointing were obvious mistakes of his own doing. Admit your mistakes, Mr Lao, that's all what counts.
To err is human but unless he acts towards accepting his mistakes and learning from them rather than avoiding or denying them, this apolo---- is a far cry from that acceptance of guilt or mistakes. Asking for understanding towards his distraught behavior falls short. Unless he lower his pride and admit his mistakes and ask forgiveness from such, only then will his apolo---- be considered a noble act, ergo worthy of admiration. This is what Mr Lao lacks.
"A man must be big enough to admit his mistakes, smart enough to profit from them and strong enough to correct them"
quoted from a person dubbed 'Juan de la Cruz' after this own side of the story is heard.
That could have been your uncle who made that mistake, but then imagine your uncle actually dying. I bet you would be complaining about the drainage system, that our country is a crappy country, and that our cities should have a proper way of disseminating information to the public. I bet you would be hurt that no one tried to inform your uncle. I bet you would react differently.
