bottomline is, those A-10 gatling guns can provide air support, I mean you can cut a tree with an enemy treehouse with those bullets right?
A-10's ability to fly low is what makes it okay.
ako rapud ni since, wala man tae en.ani.
why get A-10 if the OV-10 can bomb them accurately (as what experienced during the 2000 Campaign)
A-10 is very good for CAS i even voted for it when our defense forum ask us what would be our best bet for CAS or replacement for OV-10
OV-10 is very effective platform, there are lot of rooms for advancement...
since OV-10 is designed to be an forward observer plane, it can spot ground movement more since its speed is much slower compared to A-10, here are my bet's if ever we get a replacement for OV-10
1)
Embraer EMB 314 Super Tucano
2) A-10
why Embraer EMB 314 Super Tucano?, because its operational cost is much lesser than the A-10 (
$400 per flight hour), and this plane is made to be a COIN plane. and BTW Xe Services LLC (formely Blackwater) got Super Tucano as support for their employees
