as an atheist i don't deny the existence of a God because in the first place there is no God thus there's nothing to deny.

But you're assuming in your statement that God doesn't exist, aren't you?

How do you conceive of "God" and how do you know that such a being doesn't exist?

I haven't argued in this thread that God does exist. Ramini made a statement that "there is no God" and I'm interested in learning about his reasons for his belief that's why I asked him that question.

I'll say that Zeitgeist is very informative and though-provoking. There are two sides to religion - it could be true and divine for generations. Or it is nothing more than an elaborate scheme to control people's minds by making them afraid that an invisible entity is watching them.

Some people have yet to tackle the twist to "God made man in his own image", which is "Man made God in his own image"

might be OT but if one looks from a perspective that life ends at the death of the body:

- the Haiti Earthquake (100,000 killed)
- the Tsunami (500,000 killed)
- the Holocaust (6,000,000 killed)
- Rwanda (nearly 1,000,000 killed)

then an all powerful, loving god who looks on with apathy may not make sense. but if one looks from another perspective where life goes on even with the destruction of one form (i.e. the human body), then the concept of god may make sense. what do you think?
