Most projects I see right now on what the Garcias are doing kay mostly palpak. Also, I'm not asking you to compare them. Please be wary that this question is not an insult of your intelligence. You can call me a fanboy of the Osmeña's pud if you want but I won't care. But either way, I'm just asking
well, I don't want to be misconstrued here again as a tawo of the Garcias.

anyways, for conversations sake, here is some examples of what I know of:

Sonny Garcia Jr. - former DOTC Sec during Ramos. you are enjoying now a handful of choices of what telecom company to apply for your phoneline, DSL, cellphone, right? you are enjoying now an alternate choice of what airline company to make your trip, right? you are enjoying now a less than 5-year old taxi model for your ride, isn't it?

Esperanza Garcia (wife of Pablo Sr.) - founder of CFIF, an award-winning cooperative that has helped a lot of Cebuanos with livelihood.

as for the rest, use the power of google nlng pre...

as for the palpak, Im sure u mean the CICC and Balili controversy.

    2. Nganong dili man sila mo dagan ug national position?

Gusto gyud nila tingali ut-uton ang Sugbu.
    1. That will be the same question you will ask during the time when the Osmenas dominated Cebu politics, and in fact also now. asa ug kwarta? op kors sa partido, friends, relatives, and from their own pockets, just like any other politician out there.
    2. I think Congressman is a national position. Perhaps senator or VP imong pasabot? ah dili pana cla manimaho oi. mas manimaho pa ang artista...if they will insist, they will suffer the same fate as w/ Lito O. Pildi. besides, being a GSIS President is a national position. Being a Consul to Russia is also a national position. Though not elected but appointed. Correct me lang if im wrong.

yup. I also remembered that. During that time, the Osmenas and Garcias were allies.

here's another related entry about the role of Ramos and his DOTC under Sonny Garcia Jr. (and like you cited, some of the lawmakers like Sonny O.):

    Postscript, 1998

By the time President Fidel Ramos’s term ended on 30 June 1998, he had successfully laid the foundations for sustained economic growth through sound structural reforms. He pushed for the liberalization, deregulation, and privatization of major industries, making it possible for the country to post an average economic growth of 4.6% in the 6 years under his watch. Below are some of the most notable achievements of the Ramos administration.

    # Dismantled PLDT’s 65-year monopoly of the Philippine telecommunications industry
    # Broke Philippine Airlines’ monopoly of domestic air travel services
    # Liberalized the shipping industry

    # Allowed the entry of more foreign banks into the country
    # Signed the Oil Deregulation Law of 1998
    # Privatized water utility services in Metro Manila
    # Privatized the oil firm Petron
    # Sold the Fort Bonifacio property
    # Created the Department of Energy
    # Eliminated daily brownouts (which had peaked to as much as 8 hours of power outages a day)
    # Signed a law replacing the Central Bank with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas
    # Pushed for the creation of the unified Philippine Stock Exchange
    # Replaced the Export Processing Zone Authority with the Philippine Economic Zone Authority, resulting in a jump in the number of economic zones and investments
    # Hosted the 4th APEC Leaders’ Summit in 1996

i think mao nay gitawag ug norm pre. as they say SOP na cya. gullas, osmena, etc. mga kawatan man pud. way mapili ana nila tanan. asa man diay magikan ang kwarta pamalit ug votes?

sa CICC, why do u think napun-an ug P200-M ang gasto from 600M to 800M? op kors ky ang 200M mao nay SOP bahinonon from Capitol all the way up to Malacanang. hahaha.

mao ni kataw-anan nato pre. Kusug kaayo ta mo reklamo ug corruption pero ting election, kusug kaayo mo kolekta sa P500, P1,000, etc in return for their votes. Adto parehistro sa Talisay ay ky sure kaayo na bsan asa pa did2 dapita...Sa Cebu City, ayaw nlng ask asa gyud dapit ky secret...
