Different strokes for different folks.

In ur case u have a blog and wants to generate income. U want traffic to ur site or make ur site Rank in google? for some its the same but the approach would be 2 different things. Having a high ranking site doesnt mean traffic to it will increase. we can improve the rank, it helps in generating people going to ur site but not a guarantee, u will need lead generation to make people go to ur site, thats the internet Marketing part. Ur site will rank well in search engine though.

Less expenses method to rank a site(assuming your blog/site is already SEO)
Profile Backlinking
Blog Commenting (not using this method)
Bookmarking


Depends on ur niche, competition and keywords, those 3 method can do wonders already. I rank a site with just Profile backlinking from page 14 to page 1 number 1 (well its number 2 now, as client did not continue SEO efforts) in 3 months with About 2,470,000 results (google).

Best way to explain it example - Friendster or facebook(we use this as example only as people can easily relate, These sites are nofollow now so using it is up to u). In the profile part, u can put the keywords u want to optimize (html or bbcode etc...). As simple as that.

The more the better. The more diverse (no follow, do follow) the better as well. Most people want higher Page rank domain. But For me Diversity is the key. Its very easy for SE algo to catch lets say most ur backlinks are PR 4 and up kinda suspicious. If u have all types of PR it kinda appear more natural.

PS, I have an old packet with instructions where to post and stuff like that. I can share it to u. Use it as practice lang not for ur main site as i dont know the current status of those sites are those are a little old. When u use it u will get familiar with it then u are ready to use the latest packet to work on ur site.

What niche are you planning to get into? Well, SEO involves a lot of factors and planning. Expensive? yes it's expensive but you can do it by yourself with the guidance of our fellow istoryans who are into SEO. With your planned blog site, you can start with choosing less competitive keywords for your niche. For driving traffic and ranking your blog, you can start with the suggestions mentioned by Cyraxx minus the blog commenting (more effort less rewarding). Profile links are really effective for ranking, you can also add article marketing, exchanging links and bookmarking. As what Cyraxx mentioned, these 2 methods plus article marketing or link exchange can already do wonders to drive traffic and rank your blog site.

@cyraxx Thanks sir. Though it still a little vague, but I'm kinda getting the idea about the whole SEO thing. I'm still not sure though if i am on the right track.

wow! that's quite an interesting offer, pero wala pman ko website nor blog and I don't have any knowledge in SEO but if it has instructions kay i'm willing to give it a try.

@jetkat sorry sir for not being clear. I'm thinking of having a site that is related to my field of interests that way i don't find it hard to update the site myself. But like i said. I don't have experience in SEO nor do i have the knowledge about it. I just heard it from people i know pero i don't think they even know a lot sad.

I was back reading the post and was amazed at the thoughts pouring in.
Oh for curiosity sir.. ive been reading a lot of linkbuilding/SEO's and all but then sometimes it confuses me..
dont know where to start a question when some question are popping in my head like mushrooms in a span of time.

Pwede ko ask sir.?

1. keywords are really important dibah so as to see the competitive and difficulty of keywords...Ranking them is easy but maintaining them is hard.(para sa akong sabot lang ha kay magdepende man guru na sir sa google algo. we never know the google algos ). Link wheel is quiet hard man gud coz u needed ARTICLE Writer + linkbuilders..and SEO scope is very vast to experience. Pwede ko ask sir, do u used some soFtwares(dile lang blackhat) to maintain those keywords aside from link wheel? and what are those po? or ur havin manual link building?

2. Ive been reading as well some PPC thingy but then, wala pa kaayu ko sabot sir especially sa keywods budgeting nya, can u feel free to elaborate what are some easiest way of strategies in my level of thinking? or pwde pod sir. chat2 lang ta..

3. but the most great to know is LOCAL seo right? Any idea about that sir or whats your opinion to those things?? ROI based ka sir?

4. Can you check this page THE Backlinking Strategy That Works and read it - listen to the video when you get a chance and let me know what you think of it - whether you think it is good or bad and how it compares to your link wheels please ?

5. As an SEO, you are conscious of google penalization, but aside from that asa man ka ma conscious pod? (diba bing and yahoo is nice as well to get some backlinks? especially if ROI based ka kay kuha kag directories nila for local sales target?)

I'll try to answer your questions based on my experience but I'll just make it short as I'm not that good on answering questions

Here are my answer for your questions

- In my experience ranking is much harder than maintaining its ranking and yeah it depends on the algo of SE but that's the most exciting part of SEO
- Regarding link wheels, it's not that complicated
- I'm not a fan softwares, all submissions must be organic(manual) though I use a software for spinning articles
- Regarding the link that you posted, here's my take on it. YES it's an effective method of link wheel
- I am not conscious or never did I fear my sites being penalized from any SE, As a part of my experiment before, I have tried every technique from white hat to black hat methods and never was any of my sites being penalized (there's a long story with regards to the purpose of this experiment).
- Regarding with techniques, I settled for Grey Hat
