I agree, hehe.. We can afford the 105-mm shell, but for sure we cant afford the AC-130 Spectre..

OT: Share lang ko, tag 30k diay usa ka shell sa 105, maypa nangawat ko ug usa, hehe.. kay during the all out war, 3 of the 105-mm howitzer was positioned in our town, and i was there helping the cafgu to get 105-mm shells from a woden box, that day the howitzer fire around 20 rounds to MILF rebels located somewhere in maguindanao, after the barrage we heard the MILF running for retreat but sadly no MILF was hit.. So worth 600k na diay ang gisayang, hehe..

yeah sometimes the shelling hits nothing.
so sayang jud kaau.
if pwede palang air strike nalang instead of shelling.

Jungle is not a problem, its been use during Vietnam conflict, FAS: During Vietnam, gunships destroyed more than 10,000 trucks and were credited with many life-saving close air support missions. AC-130s suppressed enemy air defense systems and attacked ground forces during Operation Urgent Fury in Grenada.

Hitting it with an M1 Garand? Maybe you can tell that to the afghans or iraqis who been trying to hit the AC-130 Gunship, maybe they can try your suggestion, and they can tell you if it works..

-if it was not a problem, they wouldve won the war.. hehe..
-the C130's(H) mainly served as transport that time..
-no prob.. as soon as you tell the pilot to manuever a low pass.. that'll work.. hehehe..

Nice man sad and Hind, kung pwede gani naa ta Hind, AC-130 Gunship, Apache and others para ma known pud airforce sa pinas, pero luoy napud mga rebelde ani, over kill na, haha..

Kalimtan sa nato ang economics sa war kay we know in reality ang pilipinas dugay2x pa maka modernize, lets share nalang kung unsa unta maau na equipments para sa ato airforce..

again, it also helps if we read the first post explaining the title of the thread..... what's the TS purpose of upgrading the Philippine Airforce.... and ultimately, do we have enough money to sustain it... that's the point.

Lets make another thread for this one, para ma istoryaan nato maayo..

Lets go back to Airforce and discuss which plane or helicopter is better.. Atleast related sa airforce..

Where did all that money go? Why did the rebels, who spent a teensy-weensy fraction of the amount spent by the government, still around?

I just won't quote the rest of your posts 'coz it doesn't have anything relevant to the topic on hand.

If we take that statement above: How then will spending Billions of Dollars in upgrading our air force guarantee that the rebels will not be around??

by that, do we really need all the bells and whistles?? or we will fix internal issues first such as "where all those money go first" before spending another huge amount that would eventually end up "gone".

fix the holes first before refueling the gas tank....

pirmi ko naa sa mactan air base kay naa man amo skul dd2...and i have been with those honorable paf soldiers for years nah....i have known all aircraft sad that are used sa paf and it really dismays me nga daghan ang mga courageous na sundalo sa paf pero ang mga equipments nila kay dili bagsik...as of now, we only got C-130's, fokker 27's and nomads for transport, hueys for helicopter utility, attack, patrol, rescue and training usage, ov-10 bronco's for ground support, and these aircrafts got relatively high airframe hours meaning tguwang najud....i just hope and pray na aksyunan ni sa government...i cant imagine the philippines kng i.invade ta through air power nya la ta'y defense....tsk tsk....

that's the point. before we discuss planes and helicopters and all other upgrades... we should ask basic questions...

do we have money to buy all those high ticket items?

simple... we don't have budget for it right now. it's not the priority.

same reason why I asked all those who posted helos, planes, frigates etc etc to post corresponding price tags for each including maintenance/training expenses so everyone would know how CHEAP all these toys are...

Honestly, when I joined the thread, I just wanted to casually thrown in what I know about military and naval aviation, being an avid enthusiast, regardless of whether it will change the system, change the Philippine airforce, change the world, or change a baby's diapers. If some of the information I shared entertained or enlightened some people here, then that makes me happy, and if some deem it as some Octopus-ink that clouds or muddles the grim reality of the situation, then I apologize.

Bottom line is, I am just a person who passes along information, and one who delights in making my own quirky assessment of situations.
