Our whitewater rapids are way way better than any other in Pinas. Although, Luzon is claiming that too. But the number of outfitters will tell you that CDO rapids is the best. CDO has more outfitters than any whitewater rapids in Pinas. You see, CDO is having a lot of extreme fun while looking forward of making money through Phividec, Hanjin, LADP, CIC, etc. Remember that, the people are MAKING money, thru good BIG factories and industry. Not SPENDING money. The people of Pinas don't have EXTRA money to spend in Malls and Condos and Dutyfree.

CDO is doing both, i.e. BIG factories/industry and excellent Real Estates. It's balance like Yin/Yang

Cagayan de Oro -- Valley of Gold...sooner it will reclaim its former glory as when it was christened its name during the times when early Spanish friars first set foot in the valley and discovered the existence of overflowing gold. Take it literally and figuratively, CdO has been and will become what its name means!

Good, your research on Davao is accurate but I may also add Chimes Mall catering to high-end market and a 7-storey coml-resl building u/c fronting it in the Chinatown district. Also there's still the old NCCC department store in Chinatown. Another finished 3-storey luxury apartment near SM Ecoland called las Palmeras was not on the list. There's also another proposal for a condominium complex in Bacaca road but dili muna idivulge details kay planning stage pa kay embarassing kung magpataka claim. Contrary to that forumer's sweeping claim na dili kuno maka-afford Mindanao with condo's with the obvious reason nga wala diay condo sa CDO sa iyang pangatik nga daghan kuno, projects in Davao are enjoying brisk sales such that eco 4000 and one Oasis were nearly sold out even before the building was finished. The arrogance of this forumer is disgusting.

This maybe true in the past, i.e. Manila, Cebu, Davao in that order. But not anymore.

Kaluod sa pagkahambog. Show evidence with your pagkahambog that CDO is now the most competitive in Mindanao, or the country even. Let the facts speak, I have evidence that Davao is now the country's most competitive city to disprove your arrogant claim, simple as that dili na kinahanglan atikon pa uban.

Sun.Star Network Online - Davao City is RP's most competitive city

Nakamenos ni sa intelligence sa mga forumers diri gisayonan lag pangatik sa pagkahambog niya sa iyang syudad. Kahilas.

I understand Mald3ta's frustration, grabe nakakasuka ang pagkahambog ni bisaya dakoo, kana diay tinuod nga color sa uban mga taga CDO sama niya even at the expense of trashing Davao nga gitabangan pa gani sila.

Goodbye to the term 'city of golden friendship', it turns out to be sheer hypocrisy, hope this is not the case with other CDO people.

Dili pud siguro sakto bai.

Akoang igsoon dira man naga trabaho. So murag dili pud sakto nga walay dako nga industries sa Davao.

Unta imbis nga mag nilabayay mo ug lapok, magtinabangay nalang unta mo. Wala man siguroy dapat lalisan. CDO ang lamang sa heavy industry, Davao ang lamang sa commerce, tourism, ug real estate.

You're right, this is what Davao actually intended when the BIMP EAGA was drafted to scatter the heavy industries in other Mindanao regions. Thats why Northern Mindanao benefitted with Hanjin even when its first choice was Davao, but the city strictly implemeted its environmental standards. Nakaapan kay corrupt politicians there blew it and Hanjin threatend to withdraw. There's even a Davao businesswoman for BIMP EAGA who was so dedicated in encouraging IT investments in Mindanao that she almost forgot Davao itself. With the efforts she had contributed with bringing investors nabuhatan mga IT infrastructures sa uban cities like CDO but nakalimtan na hinuon niya Davao. Good thing she was reminded and now Davao's IT industry is bullish and its workforce was even mentioned among the best sites in the world for BPO, ICT business together with Monteviedo, Morocco and Jakarta.

    http://www.sunstar.com.ph/static/dav....business.html

That's why it came as a shock when we discovered the nasty attitudes of a number of CDO people nga gitabangan na gani, gilait ug gibugalbugalan pa ang Davao.

This will be the wake up call for Davao. Experience show that not all her efforts were even appreciated due to the selfishness of some people in some areas. Davao should be reminded to seek for her interest also over those nasty ones that seem to act like vultures when given the chance.

Mitsubishi had done a good move, despite being a heavy industry which may be difficult to penetrate Davao city due to strict environmental standards, these investors would be encouraged to invest on surrounding regions of the city instead (while assuring the environmental aspect of that place is also considered) to make it convenient for their preferred choice of being near metropolitan Davao geared as the major Service Center, major tourism destination, highly livable city and world class ICT/BPO site in this part of the country.

sa ak lang nga side, i think equal rman cguro ang CDO ug Davao, coz sa cge naku ug agi sa CDO neat and clean man ilang place(also ang AURORA DILI LANG MI PALUPIG..HEHEH) tapos ang Davao, ang nakanindot sa ilaha ky ang pagkamayu sa ilang mayor, naaanhi kaya sa Cebu ang Mayor sa Davao, nakakita jud ko sa mayor ninyo, pagkamatay sa ako lolo, coz ig-agaw man cla... mao ng wala jud gubot sa davao ky gihimo man sa tanan sa mayor para malinawon ang ilang lugar... so UP FOR AURORA, ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR na lang mo!! wakekeke

I think delusional talaga itong si bisaya dako. Again, I am from Manila working here in Davao for a European airline IT company. I totally disagree with bisaya dako with what he's claiming. Puro hallucinations...If you want facts, bisaya dako -- read well the posts of rocketvision and the research of patrick mike because these are hard and real facts..hwag puro claim kasi i also travel regularly to CDO because it's under my sales territory. Regarding real estate, I have friends from Ayala Land and Crown Communities who are disappointed with their dismal sales in CDO. In fact according to Ayala Land, this is the first time in their history na mahina ang benta nila ng properties and that is in CDO..this is straight from the horse's mouth kaya get real bisaya dako..then what are you talking about na that was before? Manila, Cebu, Davao? Sorry to burst your bubble but it is still the same now as it was before ha-ha..Regarding the airport for Northern Mindanao, it was originally planned as an international airport but they downgraded it to domestic lang muna. You can check this fact from the governor of Misamis Oriental because heard it from one of his media interviews.. I think we have to enlighten you bisaya dako that the sprouting of many malls, more real estate, industries, corporations etc indicates robust economic activities and strong purchasing power. I guess you have to revisit the disciplines of economics and business because seems that you are not looking at the real market forces or factors..

It's not what is already there. It's the "rate" that a city is doing. And CDO (and CIC) is doing it at a very high rate per capita.
    Just look at this forum;
Laguindingan Airport Development Project - Page 36 - SkyscraperCity

Consider how is this gonna affect the entire region. And CDO (and CIC) is at the forefront of that.

Fruits? MisOr and NorMin has fruits
Water? Cagayan river will tell you that.
Modern Airport? check the link above.
Real Estates? haha, CDO got many, i.e. Xavier Estate, Koresco, Ayala, etc.
Best Unitversities? we got XU. MPSC board exam passing rate is one of the highest in Pinas.
Christian? that's racist really. I'm Agonistic. What is wrong w/ Muslim (except fundamentalist)?
Bank? like we don't have banks in CDO? hahahaha
Taxi? you must be joking really. Even Cebu cab drivers envy the CDO cabs.
Malls? If I'm not mistaken LimKetKai Mall is the first in Mindanao.

As I said, it's not how much your city got now. It's the rate that the city is going. And CDO is way up ahead and it's starting to use it's afterburner.

    cheers,
    Bisaya Dako
    Regarding above:

Fruits - Northern Mindanao has lots of fruits but mostly in Bukidnon and not in CDO. Davao is touted to be the fruit basket of Mindanao, if not the Philippines.

Water - I guess the kind of water being referred to here is drinking/potable water. Davao has the 2nd best water in the world next to Amsterdam. In fact I drink straight from the tap. No need for bottled water.

Modern airport - the airport under construction will service Northern Mindanao as a Northern gateway but according to their local government, it will only cater to domestic flights. Davao has a modern international airport that caters both domestic and international flights with earnings from terminal fees, concessionaires, operations, and advertisers to name a few..In CDO, the terminal fee is Php40 but in Davao, it imposes the same rates as Manila and Cebu for the domestic and international traffic.

Universities - CDO has Xavier University and 2 others but did not meet PAASCU accreditation. Davao has UP Mindanao, Ateneo, UM, US and UIC.

Real Estate - CDO has a lot of real estate/property developments going on there BUT it is the banner year of Davao in terms of real estate/property. This is supported by Holcim, which has plants both in Davao and Iligan.

Taxis - CDO has better taxis compared to Davao.

Malls - You are wrong bisaya dako..Victoria Plaza Davao is the first mall in Mindanao but Limketkai Mall is the biggest in Mindanao in terms of area..

    Hope above info helps guys!
