What we do in life echoes throughout eternity~ Please support your lokal artists and their efforts to promote the Cebuano identity and culture!
How many movies are to be shown? Do keep us posted if when and sunod salida. Thanks...
Can I join sinebuano? I dunno if you'd call this a portfolio but I've only had one chance to make a short film since it involved students who needed a project. That way I had free crew. It was originally called "night shift" and it revolved around janitors. I was experimenting on making the actors "behave" rather than "act". Like how some people are cast cuz of how they behaved normaly (christopher walken, chris rock and tucker etc.,) But it was shot with a teeny tiny camera. No pods, no lighting rigs, and it was all at night pa. We just renegaded it and used whatever light we could find. But I got the good angles, and great performances. I just wanted to make a good, semi surreal movie with a good simple story. Right now it's being redone by BIGFOOT students and they're calling it "sweepers". They did a good job of redoing the angles and everything and just doing it right as it should. I wanted their equipment so bad and I really wanna learn more. I don't have money for film school but some students at IAFT would lend me their notes. Big thanks. But I really wanna apprentice somebody and help out cuz I know I got something to offer and I can really feel that there's a great cebuano movie out there not yet made and I wanna be a part of that. Indie films have so much potential because it caters to the art, not the masses. You don't have to worry about actors who wanna maintain an image and want the movie to work for them, not the other way around for one. That doesn't mean I'm into art films where it's all "symbolize, symbolize" but I just wanna make a film where you just want your friends or family who have no idea about local films and have them just go "that was ****in awesome, for real" Right now I'm just tripping on john singleton films. Genius. It's hard to sell emotions and maintain coolness in a film. you try it.
Right now I'm working on a screenplay for a cebuano thug film (no frats or Crips or Bloods or watever) coming of age style, also a chick comedy/buddy flick adventure. And a mockumentary of a local band but it switches back and forth to a movie involving the band members and the film crew. It involves switching from a 60i shot to hopefully a 24p progressive. Kung pwede HD cam *droool...* I'm also working on a dark comedy story involving a highschool kid who's teacher dies accidentally in front of him. I'm working on a screenplay about a nerdy kid who wakes up to find that his dick grew to 12 inches for some unexplainable reason. And it alters his behaviour and views towards life. It's pretty deep. The story I mean. hehe.. Anyways, I still need some help with these and I really wanna bring these to life before I trip on a bottle and hit my head at a table's edge and die.
Wanna join too...
I've read the first page of this Sinebuano thread, one of its aim is to propagate Cebuano movies in the region, and the first step is to collaborate with local indie film makers. We'll here we are, and I hope this aim is still there...
Hopefully, we can make something big for Cebuanos and make a good movie for us all, show it to the masses so they'll know we're starting it. I also love artistic movies, i just hope we can also do something like the masses can relate so they'll acknowledge the presence of Cebuano movies.
I agree, no flashy actors and personalities to show off for the Cebuano movies, just for the fun and art in doing something purely cebuano...
NIGHT SHIFT was hilarious! Great job! Although nganong "Indieflixx" ang directorial credit ana? I saw it on Sine ug Katilingban and it is much more enjoyable than most of the works from IAFT .......Can I join sinebuano?
