I was one of those who got hired. Ang sweldo mo net ra ug 1k ra gidagdag sa akong current sweldo. Dili pa dagdag. But I lost this bet coz expecting ko dako. Nakabangka nuon ko ug usa ka case sa redhorse. toink! LOL.

The fictional American applicant was, in fact, the first to be called. Nagkatawa lang mi sa kabuang ani nila. This was the first bet that was satisfied. I won this one. Basta kasagaran pinoy nga company tila gyud sa lubot dayon basta foreigner. Told them "You can't afford me." then hung up. Nagemail pa nga "we really need your skills". Replied to them "there are other filipino colleagues with far better skills than I have and you can't even pay them a decent salary." :P

I asked "what do you have to offer?" blah here, blah there... then I told him "with my 16 years of experience, I will not work for less than 80k" hello?...silence... hello? .... ToooT... Tooot... The question still stands as to why it was not disclosed to applicants that Accenture is the new name after the legal battle of Andersen Computing/Consulting or whatever their name was.

This may be crazy advice but always put your mindset in the thought that you work like you have nothing to lose. Tutal, expendable man ta there's no reason why we shouldn't look at them the same. And when push comes to shove all their good intentions disappear when it comes to deciding in letting the company float or letting you go.

Anyway, it's pretty obvious naman siguro bati ug feedback ang Accenture for veteran IT professionals. Let's just treat it as a symbol nalang that the IT industry is now investing in Cebu even though it doesn't necessarily mean that these "big names" are ideal places to work. Just like a product, the first generation of companies will always suck. The ones that come later will have something better to offer. So if patient mo paabot lang ta nga naai nindot maabot.

very korek.......and I'm sure daghan jud na ang mo-abot. So patience lang jud, you won't be a programmer if you didn't have patience from the start.

preha mo ako kaila cebutrader. mga 60k+ na siya sa lexmark. Accenture only offered him around 5-10k increase nya Manila-based daw. Gi-ingnan niya unless you will be paying me 100k in Manila, we can start talking. LOL
