Just because they haven't won back to back titles doesn't mean they're inconsistent. If we talk about consistency, it's not only about winning titles, but it's also about statistics.

well it meant sumthing to u guys kay fan baya mo. i give it to them they are a very good team. for me winning back to back to back titles is consistency.... well that is my opinion and im entitled to it. lets just wait and see if they can pull one this time to make it back to back.

^^I'm not a fan of the Spurs, I root for the Suns, Hornets, and the Knicks (for a long time on this one).

Do you think that the Houston Rockets is more consistent than the Spurs because they won back to back titles with Hakeem Olajuwon during the 1994 and 1995 finals?

well, i respect ur teams even if they're not as tough as the spurs. but the spurs's basketball program is what helps them grab those titles. they dont need superstars to win a title. they don't need ur respect to win a title. and most of all, they don't need the spotlight to make it happen for the team.

Let me break it down. The Rockets probably had their best season in franchise history during the 1993-94 season. They started the season setting an NBA record start of 15-0 and went on to win their first ever NBA title by defeating the New York Knicks, 4-3. The next season, they entered the playoffs as the 6th seed in the West. Isn't it too uncharacteristic for a defending champion when they have kept their core players and even added Clyde Drexler for Otis Thorpe in a seemingly one-sided deal? That's not consistency. Though, they still managed to sail through and swept the Orlando Magic in the finals for their 2nd straight title.

After their back-to-back titles, where are the Rockets? They went down. They were swept by the Seattle Super Sonics in the second round the next season and lost to the Utah Jazz in the Western Conference Finals in 1997. They never made it to the finals even though they had a more formidable line-up led by Hakeem Olajuwon, Clyde Drexler, and Charles Barkley. The Rockets bowed out in the first round of the playoffs in the next two seasons, even having Scottie Pippen during the 1999 playoffs.

If we compare it to the San Antonio Spurs, the Rockets who have won back-to-back NBA titles are still not that close.
