What does the Koran say about women? Dili ko anang religion where women are treated as property.
Now, this incident only highlights how "PEACEFUL" Islam can be.
The other week, Pakistan was in a maelstrom of a 12-year old Christian girl (afflicted with Down's syndrome) being setup by an Islamic imam into carrying burnt copies of the Koran. The other Islamic guy who has the conscience to confess of the truth about his dishonest pastor led to freeing the girl. However innocent she is, she and her family are not allowed to go back to her place for fear of Islamic mob reprisals.

@JcBoy:
NO matter how hard you try to defend Islam, it is truly INDEFENSIBLE. My atheist college history teacher showed us videos of Yasser Arafat and his "peaceful" speeches. Since she can understand Arabic, she was able to understand and explain to us what Yasser Arafat was saying. If he is facing the masses and talking in Arabic, he would incite the Palestinian people to all forms of violence and hatred towards Israel, and the US
When he was speaking to the world and in English, he would be saintly enough to promote peace. I just cant imagine the hypocrisy of such a man -- and he got a Nobel "Peace" prize for it. My teacher later explained the Islamic doctrine of "TAQQIYA" -- that is, Muslims are ALLOWED to spread falsehoods to promote Islam.
Islam -- the religion of PIECES.
PEACE -- as we know it, is the state of harmony characterized by the lack of violent conflict and the freedom from fear of violence
PEACE (salam) -- the Islamic sense of peace, is the subjugation to Islam. A Muslim therefore, can never be "at peace" with his un-Islamic neghbors (kafirs) and will be only at peace with them if they subject themselves to Islam.
Muslims have divided the world into two:
A: The House of Peace (Dar-ul-Salam)
(Afghanistan, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Somalia) where the population is entirely Islamic.
B: The House of War (Dar-ul-Harb)
(The West, America and other un-Islamic countries) where Muslims can conquer and subjugate by any means. Price for non-conversion would be death, and demotion to second-class citizenship with NO rights and paying the jizya (protection tax because of your inferior status).
How about if we apply the same laws against Muslims in Christian/non-islamic countries?
Imams have been issuing fatwas non-stop these days. I even came across a video of one crying in front of his congregation - asking Allah (pbuh) why a particular person was still alive. That person was apparently a muslim who moved out of Pakistan (I think) to Europe and then began criticizing Islam and the Islamic states. "Why oh why is he still alive *SOB* Whyyy (uncontrollable crying)". Really pathetic way to garner support and sympathy.Originally Posted by BigBadWolf

Then the South Park episodes featuring Mohammad.
Then the Facebook campaign "Everybody Draw Mohammad Day".
At some point the creators were issued or threatened with fatwas.
While violent threats are always a problem, the real problem is the idiotic certainty that the rest of the world is somehow duty-bound to respect their beliefs, but that it is not reciprocal- that they have no similar duty to respect freedom of speech. Hypocrisy.
I am pissed.. really bad, and I am mean when I am
Muslims like this.. and Communists..
oh, ain't this world one great shooting range...
You mean to say that by stereotyping the Muslims, you acknowledge that in your professed religion all adherents are good and peaceful? That’s hypocrisy! You seriously need to get your facts right because ignorance is the mother of all evil. If you really want to understand Islam then I would like you to start with an open mind, don't just read it like a story book, and look for the reason behind every particular misdeeds and shortcomings of its adherents and attribute it as that is what Islam taught to its adherents. As Muslim, we understand that those who are equating Islam with terror and violence belong to a certain socio-political and theological groups. They don’t represent all of humanity. They don’t speak on behalf of all Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists and all people in other faiths. Instead they have a world view that reflects their motives to maximize either financial, political, or religious interests.
I would say that before preaching love and peace to other nations, Christians will do well to pay heed to the following well-attested words of Jesus:
Or, how can you say to your brother, "Friend, let me take the speck in your eye," when you yourself do not see the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log in your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye (Luke 6:42 = Matt 7:4-5 = Thomas, saying 26)

You are entitled to your own opinion. Our duty as Muslim is to invite mankind to worship One God and promote peaceful dialogue about the basic tenets of faith. The question is, “does a Muslim really oblige to defend Islam against its adversary’s deliberate denigration?” The clear cut answer to this question is “NO” because we can read this revelation that is already enshrined in the Qur’an…@JcBoy:
NO matter how hard you try to defend Islam, it is truly INDEFENSIBLE.
“Fain would they extinguish Allah's light with their mouths but Allah will not allow but that His light should be perfected even though the unbelievers may detest (it). It is He who hath sent His apostle with guidance and religion of truth to proclaim it over all religions even though the pagans may detest (it). Qur’an 9:32-33
“Remember how the unbelievers plotted against thee to keep thee in bonds or slay thee or get thee out (of thy home). They plot and plan and Allah too plans but the best of planners is Allah.” Qur’an 8:30 –
(Read this commentary by Yusuf Ali translation of the Holy Qur’an to give you some historical facts about the enemy’s plot that works instead against them.)
The plots against Al-Mustafa-Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in Makkah aimed at three things. They were not only foiled, but Allah's wonderful working turned the tables, and brought good out of evil in each case. (1) They tried to hold the Prophet in subjection in Makkah by putting pressure on his uncles, relatives, and friends. But the more they persecuted, the more the little Muslim community grew in faith and numbers. (2) They tried to injure or slay him. But the wonderful example of his humility, perseverance, and fearlessness furthered the cause of Islam. (3) They tried to get him and his followers out of their homes. But they found a new home in Madinah from which they eventually reconquered not only Makkah but Arabia and the world. (8.30)
By blaming the tragic event of 9/11 to the Muslims, thousands of Americans have become interested in Islam and some have eventually embrace it, likewise, after the Danish cartoon mocking Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) more Danish people have become interested and embrace Islam.
So go on in your tireless effort to malign the Muslims and Islam in particular, by doing this you’ve given Islam a free publicity no matter how negative it is. Falsehood stands out clear from error, see how those actors and actresses in the video being deceived by those hateful elements in American society, but the truth is now hunting those who are involved.
It is up to you to be honest and rational in your assessment and ascertaining the truth. That is, it should be based upon facts and authenticated information and not from vested interests, religious prejudice or misinformation. My atheist college history teacher showed us videos of Yasser Arafat and his "peaceful" speeches. Since she can understand Arabic, she was able to understand and explain to us what Yasser Arafat was saying. If he is facing the masses and talking in Arabic, he would incite the Palestinian people to all forms of violence and hatred towards Israel, and the US
Sorry, I will not speak on his behalf. You mean to say you are more knowledgeable and credible than those people of Nobel Foundation who give him the award? When he was speaking to the world and in English, he would be saintly enough to promote peace. I just cant imagine the hypocrisy of such a man -- and he got a Nobel "Peace" prize for it.
Sorry to say but what you’ve got from your teacher is the wrong concept of al-taqiyya. If you are true in seeking knowledge about Islam, ask the learned Muslims. To give you a fair definition of word “taqiyya” I’ll give you some excerpt from this website: al-Taqiyya/Dissimulation (Part I) ; al-Taqiyya/Dissimulation (Part II)My teacher later explained the Islamic doctrine of "TAQQIYA" -- that is, Muslims are ALLOWED to spread falsehoods to promote Islam.
The word "al-Taqiyya" literally means: "Concealing or disguising one's beliefs, convictions, ideas, feelings, opinions, and/or strategies at a time of eminent danger, whether now or later in time, to save oneself from physical and/or mental injury." A one-word translation would be "Dissimulation."
The more accurate definition of "al-Taqiyya" is "diplomacy." The true spirit of "al-Taqiyya" is better embodied in the single word "diplomacy" because it encompasses a comprehensive spectrum of behaviors that serve to further the vested interests of all parties involved.
Did you try to ask yourself how much effort you have exerted to achieve peace? You think by spreading falsehoods will help in promoting peace? Why did you say which you did not know? See how you contradicted the truth by your definition of Islamic concept of peace! Why? The truth is nobody is forcing the Americans, British, French, Australians, Chinese, Japanese and many more to come and embrace Islam. They are just convinced that Islam is logical, rational and practical religion that is best suited to their preferred ideology to be followed in their lives. How many Filipinos who are living and working in the Islamic and Muslim lands yet they are not subjugated to enter Islam. It is clearly enshrined in the Qur’an that…
“Let there be no compulsion in religion….” Qur’an 2:256
It is a basic fact in Islam that there should never ever be compulsion in religion if you try to impose religion from outside you are bound to change people into hypocrites and God doesn’t like hypocrisy. For Islam, peace is only one among many ingredients in the effective recipe for human happiness. People must be free to think what they will as they will, to weigh all possibilities, and having thought them through in the light of reason, to decide on the best way to live together. This is the Qur'anic prescription as laid down by that verse.
I think you have to read these articles to give you a glimpse of how the Muslims ruled in Spain.

These so-called “Divisions of the World in Islam” is just a geopolitical reality during the Caliphate in order for the Caliph to render/deliver the services according to their geopolitical division under his dominion. But you’re way out in sensationalizing it to make it appear distasteful by defining it to your limited understanding, so who is inferior now?Muslims have divided the world into two:
A: The House of Peace (Dar-ul-Salam)
(Afghanistan, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Somalia) where the population is entirely Islamic.
B: The House of War (Dar-ul-Harb)

How about if we apply the same laws against Muslims in Christian/non-islamic countries?
if muslims are peace-loving people-why is it that they resort to killing innocent civilians like what has happened now?
