Er, you mean Noah and his family. But then again, you are right in one sense: Sa panahon ni Adan og ni Eba nauso ang tawo. Karon nga panahona, uso pa man ang tawo sumala sa kabubot-on sa Nagpauso, ang Labaw nga Makagagahum sa Tanan, so applicable gihapon. God is Pro-Life for all eternity!

Check this article out some hard-hitting insight on how the Catholic Church has really impacted our prospects of someday becoming a prosperous society.

    Excerpt:
The Catholic Church has reduced Filipinos to a guilt-ravaged people and the chaos that continues to engulf the country is a manifestation of an entire people’s struggle to come to terms with this guilt. It is a guilt that Filipinos cannot understand because it emanates from a conscience that was nurtured by negative re-enforcement -- behavioural queues burnt into the psyche by fear of punishment and anticipation of reward rather than simple appreciation of personal fulfilment. One side of us clings to religious sacraments as a validation of our continued compliance to the black and white rules of our formal Catholic training and the other side gropes around for an alternate code ethics to deal with the real world of grey areas and a constant information deluge from other cultures. Spiritually, the Filipino is like a computer that is shoddily programmed to deal with situations that are not applicable to its environment. Anyone who’s used such a computer is familiar with the annoying if not disastrous results.

Then, schools should be abolished. Why should anyone be graded? Why should we have the fear of failing and/or an anticipation of commencing a new phase in life with flying colors? Why should we not simply appreciate every personal fulfillment?

Go further. Why should we have laws to limit our movements, our desires?

Really, a spiritual wreck you say? Should we now demand that De La Salle University, University of Santo Tomas, Ateneo de Manila University, University of San Carlos and other Catholic institution of learning be closed down because they are just producing a mediocre Filipino - unable to adopt and compete? Do the graduates of these institution amount to nothing?

    Unbelievable!

How blind can you get just to advance your agenda? The truth is right in front of you; yet, you keep denying it. The truth is that it is these Catholic institutions of learning which keeps your intellectuals afloat in the global sea of change. Where have you been living all these years?

the Catholic church is not soley responsible for the overpopulation in the Philippines, though, i should say: it's poverty and lack of proper education.

Don't forget to say happy birthday to yourself on Spain Liberation Day, 12 June. If you want to point the finger... there it can point, having brought the Catholic religion in (just for those who point at religion coz i don't).

The Philippines is not even close to over populated but it is very populated in certain areas. These areas also tend to become air and water polluted because government allows. Allows how? By not restricting and correcting the problem of vehicle emissions nor educating people on water pollution. It needs to start within itself first and work outward. But... one can not correct without first looking in a mirror or at least using the other as a mirror of one's self.

I think our fault lies in relating population to poverty. There is plenty of land for everybody, just not enough food and jobs. Plenty of mis-educated or un-educated people regarding pollution. If it were clean with everybody "locally" environmentally educated and everybody had jobs and full stomachs, what you consider to be overpopulation would go unnoticed.

    Just my 2 centavos.
BTW: I only know a few tagalog words but am trying.
    Salamat po!

Government does not want outside help either. Otherwise close monitoring would occur and they'd have to stop moving millions from the Philippines into Chinese banks - possibly billions.

A big NO for this. Why? Let see. Over populatiuon, in its literal meaning, is an excessive population of an area to the point of overcrowding, depletion of natural resources, or environmental deterioration. Overpopulation is one of the determining factor why our country suffered in financial crisis. Now, the question is that how this overpopulation exist. Is the Church responsible for this? This is a shameless fact that overpopulation is solely responsible of the church. Oh..how pity our church. Im not referring to a certain or specific church organization but rather im referring to cummulative term in general as "church". We can't just pass this to the church and give the entirely responsibility in controlling our population.

We, also is responsible for this particular issues. We are matured enough to know what is good and what is bad. Overpopulation can be a good or bad in different instances. So, it is not the responsibility of the church on how to control the boost and uncontrolled population...
