Which made me think, why did they allow her as a first timer (if it's true) to join such contest? Bb. Pilipinas is not for first timers. Maybe she just did good during the screening, prelims, or audition.

That's the challenge for her now and let's all hope that she can live up to it and to the improvement that is expected from her. Miss World is a lot tougher and more intimidating than Bb. Pilipinas. Maybe she'll decide to bring a translator along with her (just a bit of an advice).

7 months isn't that long so she better do her homework fast. "This is my first time" or "I'm only 17 years old and can't you see I'm so confident" for sure won't work in the Miss World.
