you can have any concept of god that you want... there is no right or wrong god.
whats wrong is when you try to impose your god unto others

I think that if God came from "somewhere", or if "something" brought Him into being, then He wouldn't be God, but that "something" (or "someone") would be God, because that "something" or "someone" would be more powerful and intelligent. But it can't go on to infinity. That last "thing" (that last person) that caused everything into being is what people traditionally understand to be "God", the ground of all being, the un-caused cause, Who exists necessarily.

^ It's mind-boggling indeed. How can God be un-caused? I guess that's why we call Him God, because He is the sheer act of existence Itself.
In the Bible, when Moses asked God who He was, in the burning bush, He said, "I AM who AM."
Somewhere in the Bible God also referred to Himself as the "Alpha and the Omega."
the day bacteria can declare in some form of communication that they understand us humans is the day we might declare some glimmer of hope to understand god.
Or
when you can explain to a bacterium the purpose of its seemingly insignificant life you may start asking god about the purpose of yours.
these are of course assuming that we are a "higher life form" than bacteria.
for me god is the same way as square circle cannot ( therefor does not ) exist..

I think there's just too much god talk & less god work,
too much emphasis on (jesus/god) the messenger & not of the message,
too much arrogance & self righteousness instead of tolerance & forgiveness
too much worship & less in loving is fellow human being
If there is really god, i think he/she/it would be happier if we go right to his will, message & refrain from name dropping
if one is really honest, no one knows really about god
Belief is not equals knowing
