nice bai! you didn't audition the XC? I personally think its the best of the Audeze line. Also i think the HD800 is very picky and deserves a true desktop amp to really show its true colors. Many portable amps may have enough "power" but the "synergy" just isn't there.

If there's one thing I learned from the guys at Egghead esp Rico, it doesn't really matter what setup you have its all about the pairing

No i didn't on the XC. Got no time.
RG opens up at 11am not 10am these days.
If I would have I think it would only be subtle.
I really don' t understand becoz even the HD600 didn't sound right. The HD650 at home didn't sound that way driven by the PB2/X3, really big difference i mean.
Could it also be perhaps that the transport we used was a newly opened unit?
However the LCD-X sounded so nice on the DX90.
I will see how the HD650 will sound on this transport once I'm back home. I hope flights won't be csncelled tomorrow
I think the shortest path to audio heaven is via the LCD-X without burning both holes of the pocket. Initially that is. Then one gets dissatisfied and the itch begins again.
Have you auditioned the LCD-X & the LCD-2? I wonder hw the 28k difference sounds.

Ya, wala na ko mangambisyon ug Audeze boss, maka sell na ta ana both arms, legs and a kidney too. The 800 is really nice if properly driven. Mura cya gi combine nimo ang 600 and 650. Value for money na ang 600, a little livelier ang 650 naay appeal ang both.

@foshow, You should, imho, every audiophile should have one, hard to beat it for its price and the tons of mods available for it...

During your last meet-up, did you guys find the 650 what the others say as"veiled"?

Sorry was not at the last meet, if you directly compare the 600 vs the 650 with the same setup, I can say that generally the 650 will sound veiled compared to the 600, mids are much more present and clearer up to the lower highs... Bass is still present albeit a bit tighter... Overall it is a more neutral sounding compared to the more euphonic sounding 650... 600 good for critical listening, 650 for relaxing and fun...

And they do scale very well with what amp you plug them in to... ang mods napud sunod like cables and custom cups...

Oh yes, The portable version of the Modi. this Fulla Schiit looks really good.

Btw, another 600 vs 650 debate hehe so many differing opinions about it, for me 600 sounds warm while 650 is Dark and yes a hint of being veiled and coloured.

Also, im pretty sure soon maybe next year or after, some brave soul here will get an Audeze, thats just how this hobby goes around. i remember on our first meet, we only had Audio Technicas, cheap Grados and the lower-end Senns and Fiio amps, the 2nd meet had some upgrades, and the 3rd even so much more. in our 4th or 5th meet soon, someone will have a Flagship can by then, but not me (unless of course if Audeze gives out 40-50% sale which is impossible) hahaha
