that joy is in the realm of the spirit. the joy that street children feel when bathing under the rain is probably the same kind of joy a rich kid would feel when being pampered in a posh spa--that if there's joy in his heart at all.

ive been thinking: the memories of playing in the rain, running on the hills, of sitting down to a meal of boiled bananas and camotes and biko and binignit prepared by my generous and kind-hearted lola, of listening to my lolo sing a heartwarming song--are just so joyful...i wonder if owning a condo or a mansion or a car would give me the same kind of joy. not, i guess. joy lies in the simple and beautiful things in life...things that touch the heart.

praise God for the simple and beautiful things in life that give us joy.
