Attention AYALA MALL AND SM CEBU MALL

Ayala Mall's The Terraces is indeed a work of sheer beauty and art. We would like to express our appreciation to AYALA CENTER for providing the community with an ultimate "ALL IN ONE" and wholesome place where people of all ages can shop, dine and simply have a wonderful time.

It is a common and pleasing sight to see families, like our own, spending time together in the mall and restaurants. We have however noticed that contrasting the lush trees, plants and flowing water, the open air areas are being polluted by a minority of individuals freely puffing their cigarettes away. It is a pain to see that even while young kids, pregnant moms and elderly people are dining in the open air, they actually become victims of 2nd-hand smoke; effects of which are more lethal than if they were smoking the cigarettes themselves.

In this regard, we the undersigned concerned patrons, are kindly asking AYALA CENTER CEBU to protect non-smokers, by providing smokers a specific area or room where their smoke will not reach the general public. May we also request your company to strictly prohibit smoking in public places (COMMON AREAS included) where the non-smokers can randomly be exposed to 2nd-hand smoke. Perhaps place No Smoking sign also in Common Areas including the open air areas.

We believe Cebu is a beautiful city and Ayala Mall is definitely one of the must-see places when in Cebu. We the undersigned foresee that along with beauty comes "clean & healthy environment" when people think of Cebu. This will happen when economic leaders in this city, such as AYALA CENTER-CEBU, will dare raise the standards to make the difference and uphold the rights of non-smokers as stated in Sections 5 & 6 of Republic Act of the Philippines No. 9211. A better Cebu today; who knows, a better country tomorrow. All we are asking is for Ayala Center Cebu to IMPLEMENT the Law as stated in RA 9211.

Taking one precious step at a time for a better city, we the undersigned, look forward to a positive action from your good office regarding this request.
