that's inhumane bro! let's all consider humanitarian reasons....frat related violence like what happened to cris mendez is still subject for thorough consideration and unbiased judgement not only from the government agencies but also from us public since here in the philippines, the more public scrutiny a case would get, the more false accusations and news reporting we receive from the media....we just want to know the truth, that's all!Originally Posted by cebu-future
that is so true, sometimes the media sensationalizes the issue..let the judges be judges and let investigators do their work and cooperateOriginally Posted by borgy1981
aw basta ma priso lang ang naka patay aw solve na. basta ako, wala gyud ko nagsuway2x ani mga frats kay bisan naa ni benefits, naa man gud possibility nga ma guba imong future tungod ani. pero naa nuun ko organization nga talks mostly about love and unity. the same benefits recieve by fratmen but minus the pain ang suffering

to sum things up ganito lang yan. wether ya'll like it or not, fraternities are here to stay. the pact signed by the 11 fraternities in UP are non-sense. initiation rights have been there since time began and will be there till time ends. lets just face it, there are some things that non of us can ever change in this world. plain and simple. like in the military, these sacred rites will always be there to train, mold and ultimately produce the finest individual for ones country, family, religion and school. fraternity hazings like earthquakes are just a fact of life. thats just the way things go. you have all been fooled, didnt you see it? do you really think sigma rho alumnis meant what they said about their resident brods? did you really think that jovito salonga would quit being a sigma rhoan given the fact that he is one of the founding fathers? lahat ng pag kundena "daw" is just a part of the show para walang masabi ang tao. if they really wanted to end this then i truly believe that Paul Ante isnt really that hard to find, andiyan lang yan sa tabi tabi and believe me, next sem he's enrolled somewhere in our country. lets just face it, fraternities and politics go hand in hand, again that is simply a fact of life. now worst case scenario, if sigma rho is ever pushed to the wall and really have no choice, Paul Ante and the rest of the gang will go to jail, but again believe me, if ever they do, a year from now they are back in school somewhere in our country.
i once read somewhere (sa inquirer.net kung di ako nagkakamali) that fratmen have a twisted logic of what brotherhood, character and integrity really means. maybe he's right, maybe he's wrong. maybe one day cats will like dogs and dogs can **** cats. maybe someday society can elect to remove racism, maybe someday snakes could fly. maybe, maybe, maybe, heck maybe someday all of you could be my brods ( now thats funny! lalo na sa mga haters kaya ingat ingat, mahirap kainin ang mga binitawang salita). but the truth is along the way there will always be a chris mendez, along the way may it be sigma rho, APO, beta sigma etc. may it be in UP, Siliman, UPLB etc. wherever it maybe there will always be a chris, andrew, jack or whatever the name may be. at the end of the day all you can really do is be aware and if your a neo/pledgee etc always put this in your heads....."the dignity of these traditions will not be lowered just so you can get in...." the first members went through that and just like them you will have to do what they have done as well. not everyone will agree, but at the end of the day, frats are frats, men are men, beliefs are beliefs, twisted is twisted at the end all you can do is decide, weigh the facts and think hard........should i be a betan?, sigma rhoan? alphan? deltan? sigman? or should i just go on? you decide............
marc francis, i respect your opinion, but I dont believe fratmen cannot see beyond what is rational, that hazing is a barbaric act and is despicable...Change will always be imminent, we better be ready for it, we better be open to it...someday, hazing will be a thing of the past, in fact it is passe na nga eh, a criminal act needless to say..and by the way, I dont hate fraternities, I just condemn inhumane practices like hazing(not only in frats, but in the world at large)
Hazing is a tradition, and almost all fraternities includes hazing in their initiation rites. Laws won't make much difference because in the first place no one gets caught. They only way to eradicate hazing is to change the mindset of each and every fratmen but the very big question is HOW.
good point..walay ngipon ang law..paradigm shift jud ang kinahanglanOriginally Posted by yokam
bawasi lang gamay ang PRIDE mga fratmen. dili tanan components sa inyung traditions applicable sa panahon karon. samot na nang mga inhumane acts.
i condemn and will always condemn hazing deaths.
