if not with the stupid foul by manu ginobili on dirk's three point play against dallas on game 7 west semis, they wud have won back-to-back-to back titles from 2005-2006-2007. and if not with fisher's late 0.4 second shot in their play-off series, they wud have won it five straight from 2003 to 2007. that's why they're a dynasty by majority of media's evaluation.

Not playing consistently? Take a look at how competitive the West is and it will justify why the Spurs never won back to back titles. And for the record, the Spurs has been the most consistent team in the NBA since the 90's.

Starting from 1989, during David Robinson's rookie year, the Spurs only missed the playoffs once and that was during the 1996-97 season where Robinson was sidelined for almost the entire season to injuries. That was also the only time where the Spurs had a losing record since David Robinson joined the franchise.

The Spurs had 15 seasons where they have a winning average of about .600 since 1989. Peter Holt has really taken very good care of his team.
