there are different ways to root - flashing zip, flashing a custom recovery, flashing a custom kernel etc.
    Omega 2.0? MTK dba?
last time i checked, root by flashing a custom recovery
    pero basin naay new method.
bricked is not the appropriate term kay dali rmn ma-revive ang MTK phones as per personal experience.

well, anyway i had experienced ending up w/ a "dead" phone after flashing a custom recovery to root my S3 clone (MTK 6575)
Dili mo boot. Dili "bricked" kay it can still be detected sa MTK Droid Tools ug sa Flash tool.
Tried flashing the recovery image w/ the corresponding scatter text file from my backup wala gihapon ni-boot.
Ended up flashing a custom rom i found in a Russian site. Blessing in disguise because it came pre-rooted.

    edit:
rooted my MyPhone A888 (MTK 6577) via flashing a custom recovery. It all went well.
rooted my Galaxy s2 via custom kernel. It all went well.
rooted my Galaxy 5 and Galaxy Mini via flashing a zip file file. It all went well.
    and etc...all went well

see, panagsa ra ang palpak so go ahead and root it.

wow... nice... Anyway, I found a rooting method that doesn't need flashing and don't even need a PC... you may have heard about it... Frameroot

Another question it looks like this App is also capable of unrooting my phone... If when I need to do that, maybe I need to have my phone service my CM for a defect or something2x... Is that a full proof way of that CM will not find out that I indeed root my device?

    i thinks it's Framaroot?
btw, ang SuperSU also has unroot feature. pwede sad nimo masuwayan to use to unroot.

Brick or hard brick happens only when nag.flash ka new ROMs daun na.empty batt ka on the process. Same as na.corrupt nga file sa flashdrives kai giibot wa pa nahuman copy or move sa file.

There are 2 ways to flash on MTK 65xx phones - with or without the battery.
On my s3 clone MTK6575 , it is w/o battery
On my MyPhone A888 MTK 6577, it is w/ battery
Unlike others like say Samsung nga need pa ug professional tools and services, MTK devices nga "bricked" - not charging, not booting, nothing - dali ra kaayo ma-revive , kay as long as you have installed the proper drivers , you can easily flash and revive your phone via Meta mode.

Given that, I am more comfortable trying beta, ported, experimental roms and the likes on my MTK phones
kay sa akong Samsung devices - Galaxy Player 5.0, Galaxy S2, Galaxy mini and Galaxy 5.
