Yes
No
murag sayop man ang poll....
its should be...
"do you think sim registration will be implemented?"
then I would select no...
coz if the question is this... "Do you agree on SIM card registration?"
I don't think any person who's in the right mind would disagree to an idea that can make the nation better....
and that is always a yes... no point in making a poll at all....
@masakiton and kolz : here me out guyz, i am not against the registration, pero unsaon lagi kung butang ta be, niadto ka sa Santander, then giku-ot imong celfone sa bus(alangan man sad kung sim card ray kuoton), pagna-og nimo paka nkabantay nga giku-ot imo fone, unya kay walay payphone ka nakit-an, nangita ka ug paagi moreport but sadly, ang nag-kuot nanaog ra d i sa Pardo, ug tu-a gi-dial na ang bomba sa Pardo pa lng! mao pay pag-ab0t nimo sa Santander ug mao nlng imo nabati-an sa radyo/tv nga ikaw nagpabuto sa bomba! dili ba shocking? c'mon guyz, this may sound far out but this could be a real scenario.
my point is, this is not the solution to the problem, there should be a better way than just registering our cards. maybe they should develop a technology other than the existing mobile company server recordings and triangulation of signals... or maybe they should implement better detection and law enforcement methods or whatever na mka-deter sa mga terrorists... our government would be better off spending the budget to invest in an "Echelon" like surveillance system... sukmati unya ko ninyo kung after aning registration sa sim cards naa niy pakapin nga mga additional fees in the future
yes, we should. but how do you address the problem i just presented?
it is insufficient to present a solution without considering its ramifications.
it is useless to have a poll if you don't listen to the voter's questions.
@AntitaniC
Oh crap. Yeah I'll ask mods to change that.
@All,
Again, our contention here is how to solve transnational crimes. Crimes that poses national security threat. Maybe the idea of sim registration is good theoritically, but given the current scenario the implementation is quite complicated.
1) Sim registration for 80million+ prepaid users. I know gov't. will find a way but again its complicated given the current statistics not including the cost, maintenance and safeguarding the collected data.
2) Other countries already implemented such system? Heck, these are authoritarian countries. That's why they are very strict in implementing sim registration. And logic will tell that if this an effective anti-crime tool, why not all countries done it?
3) Philippines has become a haven of terrorists, expect that this system will not be a deterrence to them. Why not think for other solution? Why not improve basic crime prevention already in place?
4) This system is prone to abuse. Look at Kenya, google it.
@masakiton,
For the sake of the argument, show your ideas. Don't just be stupid by polluting the thread with your damn quote and smileys.
