This is my E. Horizontalis(i mjight be mistaken but it has never sent floating leaves unlike the cordifolius look-alike). I think i got this waaaaaay back from Natures Aquarium sa mabolo (now closed) or from whitegold. im not sure and i tend to be forgetful these days. I made the mistake of planting the then small and innocent sword in the middle ground. and now its a huge monster in the middle ground.I just pruned this one to 4 leaves 2 weeks ago now its grown back and sending a flower stalk. im planning to let the flower stalk grow submerged to make small plantlets. The leaves start out completely red/brown and turn green as they mature. This sword can strip carbonates from the water so well that you can see calcium deposits on the new leaves in a matter of days. My kuhlies like to stay under its leaves.
Thats dwarf sag in the foreground. avoid the vile weed at all costs unless you can plant them in partitions in the substrate.or if youre not planning to keep bottom dwellers. Or if you have the patience to weed/trim it. Or if ur not planing to inject CO2. This weed was very well behaved before CO2; but now its unstoppable. I can imaging it getting worse when it spreads to the back.

This is the myrophyllum tuberculatum i got from whitegold. It doesnt look good submerged but is gorgeous when grown emersed. I am growing two sprigs emersed in soil. This sprig is from my aquarium growing floating.
On the background is a green tiger lotus i got as a bulb. I have a really hard time with this giant. I dont know how to keep the leaves submerged.

Ah, my "current" pride and joy; the E. "ozelot"Bad zoom quality. Pretty slow grower too. I might stick some fertilizer stick onto its root one of these days. Its growing on a spot where a clump of brown crypt was before. Some of the crypt roots may still be under it causing the slow growth.
Growing around is the typical sunset hygro "rosanervig". @Dub, i think naa ni sa Riverfront karon. This is a very easy & undemanding plant. With high light, it turns deep pink with pronounced white veins, but in lower light, its a pale pink like the one in the pic. The pinkcolor is only for the growing shoots, the old leaves turn green or green-brown.
To the background is java moss tied to wood. i got that from my latest trip in cartimar. I cannot grow this before in my old aquarium for some reason (allelopathy tingali). but its fine in my current setup.

Ludwigia repens. This i got from white gold but grown emersed (it was so red and the leaves smaller that they looked like rotala) . Slow growing in my tank. Im beginning to see the beauty of this plant. tan-green leaves with brown-red undersides. These dont send too much aerial roots like i thought they would.

Ah the cabomba. I always wanted to grow this and am hoping this one will. The problem with this plant is in its inability to strip carbonates from the water to the point that it will starve in a non-co2 and highly planted tank. It also needs high light levels otherwise it will be too leggy and the bottom stem will rot. The brown dots are just a few of the 12,781,540 MTS in my tank give or take a few.
@dub. try hydrilla from the vendors along manalili. its one of the hardest plants to kill (in a reasonable planted setup). hehe. unless it finds itself in the company of goldfish; where its leaves miraculously turn into green dangling strings behind the fat grinning goldfishes.
Vallisneria is also another easy plant. it looks like eel grass. It is invasive though so be careful when planting.
anubias comes to mind pero mahal. very mahal
Java moss. you can attach this to wood or rocks or make a moss wall but this is rare in cebu nowadays (along with a gazillion other plant species).
