The fact of the matter is, new informations continue to emerge in our society and you guys seem to attach yourselves to the old beliefs and continue to defend them. Maybe because you feel that it's a threat to your very own "identity". In my opinion, i think it's "Intellectual materialism",you are clinging to this old beliefs because somehow you are already emotionally attached to this kind of reality.
We have to accept and understand that there is no such thing as a smart human being, for it is only a matter of time(gradually) before new informations start to emerge and it's up to you to look into it, and examine it without bias. And the human mind continues to be updated.

I think you've misinterpreted me.
The bible explains itself and people reading the bible who's the one who misinterpreting.
They didn't know what four corners means, instead of searching the bible for the meaning they rather interpret and yet mock the bible.
