the simple fact that they're making money out of a melody that they did not compose nor did they ask permission should already raise flags that this band is out to scam us out of our money and our sense of entertainment.
the fact that they do not respect other people's work should be enough to tell you who these people are.
how would you feel if someone stole your work, claimed it as theirs and made money out of it? and as a consumer how would you feel being sold something that isn't what it claims to be?
WE cannot blame the ONL because theyre just hired artist, its the ABS CBN who want them to sing the jingle for the show.. kamo bay offeran mo back out ba mo??
and they did not re-compose the song and arranged it..
Why not blame ONL? ABS-CBN hired them to write a song for the show, they did not hire them to steal a song.Originally Posted by DHated

and the DID re-compose and re-arranged the song but the obvious use, or should i say abuse, of The Care's Chandeliers is to uncanny to remain unnoticed.
actually the song pinoy ako was not in the original list of ther debut album.. and the ONL admit that they compose the song in a hurry because ABS was forcing them to finish within a week. While they wer thinking about a good catchy melody, they are thinking of ther influences, and the care was one of it.. They admit that they listen to the Chandeliers song when they remaked the melody.. its a total rip off, but for me its only a jingle for a show and its ok to spoof anything out of it.
and i dont care if its a rip off or not because i dont like the Pinoy Ako song..
While it was not in their album, it is however in an album released by star records for the PBB soundtrack. ONL should have been more careful with regards to the ethical and legal implications of sampling Chandeliers, even if was "only" a jingle.
I also read that there is another song that they sampled from another new wave band called The Church.
their ABOT KAMAY song is cool to hear..
uh huh.
the heck! i still like some their songs... nice mn sa ears...
