Oh, i didn't know that. Could you please point out which site it says it is a modified version? By "modified version" do you mean Onel just modified the script of the "Melissa"? I have the impression that "Melissa" and "ILoveYou" spread much in the same way i.e Internet Mail System. But the similarily ends there. This will be O.T, so i don't want to expound on these any further.

What I mean is the way it was created was based on Melissa since both had a similar channel of propagation and that is through email messages, then replicates and sends itself in the recipient's e-mail address book though the latter has lesser impact/damage after released in the wild.

It was based not modified. But readers may be lead into the thinking about it being a modified version but it is not.

I have read his thesis and if i recall nowhere in his thesis was there a mention of Melissa. Hence my reaction to yours.
