you forgot the 3.1 ratio... keep the 2 flying the other is spare and reserve......
so if we have 6 that would be 4 operational and 2 spare.... and they can't allocate all the asset on one area... AFAIK... there are other suggestion like tying one cobra per division or brigades.....

it's not just mindanao had insurgency problem.... what about cebu?, negros?, luzon? there are still ISO in this area.... and this bird are badly needed here also....

cobra is good but not enough.... still it is on PAF-BAC to decide which is which....

probably half the cobras will be deployed in Mindanao. Since the military campaign is priority there...

we discussed this way back before pa na news... we heard the news before it was made to public

i would like to have cobra since commonality of parts (same ra sa huey ang power plant)... but if it can't do it's mandated AO then it would be just futile.... beter get the MD that could do it's mandated AO...

NCAH = Night Capable Attack Helicopter
AH = Attack Helicopter

We've been monitoring all it's bid for almost a year so far puro failed....

actually if they want cobra it's a big gamble for PAF....

i suggest if you really want to know everything about this matter better join the timawa comunity some DND/PAF/AFP guy might give you some answers

ok thanks sa info sir,,pro ang dili lang nako masabatan part sir if ever mopalit man gali ta ug cobra is ngano imo man g less priority and Mindanao sa pag diviede sa assets specially kung modern assets,mas gkinahanglan na nila didto..for sure naa na naka station na mga MG or MD 520 didto sa mindanao so kato nalang ato ibalhin sa diri sa visayas less man gud ako nabalitaan na gigamit kaayo na diri,,

hehe... i dont think e katag ng cobra sa country.. kung asa ang gubat didto na e deploy... make sense to me... no need naman cguro mag butang ug cobra sa Visayas & Luzon since ang heavy fighting naa sa Mindanao man.. Cotabato, Basilan, Sulu <-- kani lang daan nga lugar at least one Cobra each..

i didn't say that mindanao is less priority... it's just that the number is not enough i just put the figure if ever we get this... it's not really enough....

if only we are not an archipelago then it would be much easier to station it here in cebu....

yes mindanao is priority but ISO is not just mindanao but the whole country itself...

i still want to have cobra if the number is more higher than six like 8 or 10 but six, no way i would rather have 12 MG, i just hope soon they could we come up with better Hi-Lo/Lo-Hi mix doctrine if they ever want to get 6 Cobra....

for now ill be just realistic... 12 is better than 6 if the mission is for CAS, well cobra maybe had higher survivability rate compared to MG but the MG can still performed what the cobra intended to do...

again ISO and COIN is not just happening in mindanao.

not all MG are station on zamboanga most of them all from mactan...

the US army learn this mistake when they put most of their asset in one area... during tet offensive...
