Billups, Hamilton, Prince each score 20 as Pistons beat Nuggets 98-93

DENVER (AP)—Chauncey Billups was hoping to redeem himself in front of his hometown crowd. J.R. Smith made it unnecessary.
Billups’ foul put Smith on the line with 6.5 seconds left and a chance to tie the game, but Smith missed two of three foul shots, allowing the Detroit Pistons to escape with a 98-93 win over the Denver Nuggets on Monday night.

Buyout Has Ratliff Headed to Detroit

The Pistons are expected to add C Theo Ratliff next week, a person familiar with the upcoming transaction told the Associated Press yesterday .

The person, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the deal couldn't yet be completed, said the move will be made on Tuesday.

The Timberwolves requested waivers on Ratliff after reaching an agreement on a buyout of his contract.
