    Default Recipe of the Day


    just curious. if someone's gonna make apan apan, is there a special kind of vinegar to use? apple cider vinegar or cane or 'tuba'?

    you can use your preferred type of vinegar

    I found this recipe as luzon style not as lumad visayan way.... IMHO

    my mom cooks humba by boiling pork until it's super tender. In another casserole she sautes the spices then adds the liquid seasonings, super tender meat, some water and lets it simmer for some time... that's the way we cook it in my hometown clarin, misamis occidental... a fiesta favorite...

    a lil input on apan apan. i think it varies on what vinegar you use. i split Galadriel's recipe into two so i could make a variety. the one with apple cider vinegar leaves a tangy taste while the other, with sukang iloko, has a somewhat harsh taste. next time, i'll try local vinegar.

    OT: nahurot na, kalinaw. next time na lang. you make the steak, i'll make apan apan for appetizer. how's that, huh!
