well, with the 3 day weekend I've got another one to add...

the DIY beauty dish!!!


took me the whole afternoon to get all the cutting, drilling, and filing done


in manila a 17" beauty dish would go for about 3,000 pesos while a 22"
would cost about 4,500 pesos. my DIY beauty dish is 21 inches. I could've
shaved another 200 pesos off this project as I found a mixing bowl about the
same size but deeper for just 300 plus in ayala after buying this lid... argh!!!!


assembled in all it's aluminum glory before painting. I think I should use
a flatter dish rather than the 8" pie plate I have here.


after testing I took it apart and sanded the pieces down before I throw
the paint on tomorrow.

soft yet directional light gives good shadows to define form and shape...
though I still have a lot to learn in using one of these things


the final painted DIY "red dot special" beauty dish... I'm concerned though
about it's signature "red dot" giving any color cast to the light.

anyway, planning to buy a flatter dish so the light fills the pan more evenly.

photos have not been adjusted in anyway aside from resizing.

21" kawa cover - 565.00
8" pie pan - 30.00
white flat spray paint - 160.00
silver red spray paint - 160.00
various nuts and bolts - 70.00
= total of 995.00 pesos
