So basically what you have is a conspiracy theory, you heard from a friend who talk to his friend who happened to be part of a rally. Im not saying ALL conspiracy theory is false but it is not a valid way of understanding reality, way too inferior method.
If im not mistaken you claim to be an atheist, and atheist like us champions evidence/facts over anything else.

I think ang main difference would be that Maute is well funded. They stationed at the best places that has tactical advantage. Mainly because their men are well trained compared to MNLF. If the information that they are affiliated with ISIS, then they must be as skilled as the international terrorists. They have the support of some of the residents. They are well rooted in the city. Unlike the Zamboanga siege which were not as well rooted. If you saw the images of the fire-arms, they have top-notch weapons. They have RPGs that can be used against our army.

Personal opinion, Marawi is really hard to take over. Maute can use different methods to move in and out and provide reinforcements anytime since it is surrounded by land. With so many access to the city, it is harder to contain. Smaller city and more access makes it harder to take over. Since it is smaller, the Maute can easily coordinate and is not too spread out. They can easily move from location to location to reinforce places that needs reinforcements. Thus, making it harder to count the number of enemies left or if there were reinforcements.

If you are familiar with RTS games, you would know it is harder to take down a concentrated defense area compared to a spread out defense. Same concept.

Also, regarding Obama being in Iraq. That was incomparable. America is fighting a war on a different country. Our army is fighting a war within our Country. Of course it helps to be there to give morale to your troops.

And another note, not calling this a terrorist act is like saying Hontiveros was correct. Maute waived the flag of ISIS. Swearing allegiance to a terrorist group makes them a terrorist.

    2. First of all both of Marawi and Zamboanga have 3 important roads that can serve as means of exit. Not only that, anyone can easily travel from zamboanga, to basilan, sulu and tawi-tawi. In fact Abu Sayyaf easily jump around this 3 islands easily despite navy presence.

    3. Nope, assuming opposing party backing Maute isn't a fact. We all know that sieges are well planed and funded. But why did you brought that up and how is it an objection to my original statement?

    4. Both still exist but how does it relate to the argument? How does it makes Marawi siege easier or difficult to deal?

    5. I agree with Parliamentary-Federal, i said that before. At least we know you are NOT sure that Martial Law could end rebellion.

    6. What part of it is propaganda? For all we know there was a siege by MNLF (fact). And the govt successfully recaptured the city (fact).

    7. Involvement of Narcopoliticians is still debatable, BUT lets say they are involved.
How does it makes Maute harder or easier to deal with than MILF?

    8. I didn't omet anything, you said "Marawi is terrorism. .... Zamboanga was MNLF insurgency." And now you said "Zamboanga - MNLF insurgency / Rebellion Marawi - Terrorism / Rebellion", you are the one who add things up.

Okay now what makes Zamboanga = insurgency/rebellion and Marawi = terrorism/rebellion? We need your reason for this so well know if it really matters to the situation.

mao lisod uy kay naa sa taas nga point ang kontra plus naay mga import nga battle hardened nga IS ug usa pa jud dli kaayo hanas ang polis ug militar diri sa MOUT (military operations in urban terrain)

daghang mga tunnels ug mga portals from one house to another nga gihimo sa maute. parihas jud sa iraq ug syria nga tactics ilang gipanggamit.
