To be honest, Cebu's filmmaking scene output is few but the works are well-received and critically acclaimed.

Just now, Panumduman Pictures' ANG DAMGO NI ELEUTERIA, a film by Cebuano filmmaker Remton Zuasola and a Cinema One Original 2011 Jury Prize winner-- has been nominated in 6 categories for the ENPRESS Golden Screen Awards 2011.

The Entertainment Press Society, (ENPRESS) Inc. of the Philippines is the umbrella association for arts and entertainment writers, columnists and journalists who cover the events and news in movies, TV, radio and music in the country.

ANG DAMGO NI ELEUTERIA is nominated in the following categories:

    • Breakthrough Performance by an Actor

Gregg Tecson (Ang Damgo ni Eleuteria)

    • Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role-Drama, Musical or Comedy

Daday Melgar (Ang Damgo ni Eleuteria)

    • Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role-Drama

Donna Isadora Gimeno (Ang Damgo ni Eleuteria)

    • Best Original Screenplay

Remton Siega Zuasola (Ang Damgo ni Eleuteria)

    • Best Story

Maria Victoria Beltran (Ang Damgo ni Eleuteria)

    • Best Motion Picture-Drama

Ang Damgo ni Eleuteria (Cinema One Originals and Panumduman Pictures)

This says a lot about Cebu's local cinematic talent.
