The official word from the Miami-Wade County Assistant State Attorney is that they "cannot prove possession".

"while there was probable cause for the arrest of Udonis Haslem . . . the State could not prove Udonis Haslem's knowledge or possession of the cannabis beyond a reasonable doubt."

In short the evidence is not substantial to stand in the court, so no charges are filed.

Therefore, there is NO need for the Miami Heat to give Haslem any suspension, including the NBA. Unless there are more evidences that can be presented.

So for now, Haslem is ready to go for the training camp and of course, to play for the Miami Heat.

Heat decide not to pursue Erick Dampier

MIAMI (AP)—The Miami Heat have decided not to offer a contract to free agent center Erick Dampier, who worked out for the team earlier this week.

Heat president Pat Riley said the team was intrigued by the possibility of adding the 35-year-old Dampier, who has spent the past 14 seasons in the league. Dampier played the last six seasons in Dallas, and was the Mavericks’ starter when that team lost to Miami in the 2006 NBA finals.

Miami decided not to move forward because it already has Joel Anthony, Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Jamaal Magloire and rookie Dexter Pittman signed at center.

Dampier became a free agent after his $13 million contract for this season was voided by the Charlotte Bobcats last week. He has had interest from several other clubs.

^hmmm abi nako naka sign na wala pa diay. he could have been a good addition but pat looked at it as not really a solution since they are already loaded with bigs.. Z can still play limited minutes and so as Magloire.. i dont know about how good pittman is but Joel, he is a hustle player, he works hard and he deserves a lot of minutes for it. good job pat...
