Who would've thought we're situated near a subduction zone where killer earthquakes are known to occur? What this earthquake takes away from us Cebuanos is the feeling of safety when we go to sleep. The sound of windows or plates clinking or the bed shaking is going to wake us up in fright from hereon in. Going around the city, be it uptown or downtown, will never be the same again. Every old building, every old school, every moldy church looks like a death trap. Nature does not care if it destroys what people deem as "sacred".

It would be wise for all of us to learn what other people (especially the Japanese) do to cope and recover in this situation.

Let this be a lesson for us, dili lang mga Cebuano... apil na pod ang tanang Filipinos.

Majority siguro nato naana may trabaho, some kay naanay capability magpa buhat ug balay... Dapat e lig-on nato ang pag construct sa atong mga balay. Dili ta mag tinipid ug materyales, especially kanang atong corrugated bars or kabilya. Bahala ug overkill ang design, basta dili langta ma killed.

Sa uban nga nagpuyo pa sa atong parents, imbes karong pasko mamalit mo ug bag-ong smartphones, notebooks and other useless junks (apil na ang mga island hopping ug vacation2x ninyo)... use your money (savings, bonus pay, etc..) to repair your houses. Kanang 10k above dako2 nana ug ikatabang hinay2x sa inyong respective houses.
