We are looking for people who can do the following
1) Listen to an mp3 file
2) Write down the words verbalized in the mp3 file
3) Edit the transcription so it is grammatically correct
4) Format the transcription so it fits our needs
We will pay you P405 per audio hour or P6.75 per audio minute.
THIS IS A ONE-SCREEN PROCESS. There are no other screening processes after this. You start out at this rate. YOU NEED EXCELLENT WRITTEN ENGLISH SKILLS to do this job properly.
To test if you have the skills we need, please follow the instructions below closely. This is the ONLY SCREENING you'll go through.
Pay CAREFUL ATTENTION to the instructions below so you can do a good job with the transcription. We cannot send you any work if your transcription is full of grammar errors, spelling errors, or badly transcribed words. Keep in mind that we included some INTENTIONAL ERRORS in the audio so we can test your ability to spot the errors and fix them. Again, we need a SMOOTH and CLEAN transcription.
Step 1:
Download this free software at
Transcription Software. Foot Pedal Software Player
You will use it to open the audio file and SLOW DOWN the audio so you can transcribe better.
Step 2:
Click on the link that says CLICK HERE at
http://www.gingersoftware. com/download Download and install the software. This free software helps you spot grammar and spelling errors.
Step 3:
Visit
http://www.freelancejobsonly.com/test/test.zip and download the file. Unzip it. Load it into Express Scribe (see step 1 above) so you can slow down the text.
Step 4:
Transcribe the audio as you listen to it. You need to be an ACTIVE listener. This means actively figuring out what the context of the audio is.
Step 5:
Write your transcription into MICROSOFT NOTEPAD *not Microsoft Word* After you finish transcribing, feed the text into GINGER (step 2 above) to clean out any errors.
Read the transcribed article again and again and make sure it flows and makes sense. Format it so it makes sense. Edit again.
Step 5A:
To get rid of any MISSPELLINGS, load the text into LIBRE OFFICE and use its spell checker to fix all misspellings. LIBRE OFFICE is FREE!
Step 6:
After you transcribe the text, READ IT and apply what it says to the TEXT itself. The text you transcribed is actually the QUALITY GUIDELINE for the transcription work you'll do for us.
READ your transcription SENTENCE BY SENTENCE. We have INTENTIONALLY PLACED grammar errors and other types of errors. FIND the errors. FIX them.
IMPORTANT: Formatting Requirements
Do not indent your paragraphs. Just separate them by hitting the enter key twice
WARNING: Do not send an attachment. You must COPY AND PASTE your text into your email.
FINAL WARNING: READ what you transcribed and KEEP EDITING it

Reply to this forum discussion by clicking the REPLY button below - post how many words per minute you can type - we only take people who can type at least 45 words per minute. If you can't type this fast, please don't apply.
Right next to your WPM, mention the following:
You understand English words
You know how to spell English words
You can edit what you hear so the sentences you write are very readable.
How many hours PER DAY you can devote to homebased/work at home projects
