one of the biggest mistake US ever made is sharing some of their technology to China.. tsk tsk.. once you become an economic might, chances are --- you will become a military might.. Pero sige lang, astig pa man kaayu si Humabon.

US prevails against Germany during WWII and USSR during the Cold war, I believe that they still have the might and experience to tame the Great Dragon from the East. Medyo lisod lisod alang jud rung panahuna.

If they are working to be a super power, how much more with U.S, they can't do it, it might be almost there, but can't be there.

US and China are dependent on each other. US to China for the industry sector while China to US to the military and weapons. US can't bully China because the former may retaliate through trade sabotage like reduction of exports to US and on the other hand China can't fight back to US for the former has the capability to erase their nation on the map.

The conclusion is that the wisest nation will control the other if both of them are strong and able.

    mao,

also to add, in order to become the strongest they have to be willing to get their hands dirty ie (from the late 40s up until the early 90s) U.S. in Vietnam, Korea, Middle-East, West Germany, Cuba, Afghanistan. etc--if you look at the proximity and relation of the countries to the Soviets there is much relevance. The Soviets also made advances in Cuba, and several Central/South American countries in its bid to contain the U.S., mao nang ni sud si Che Guevara ug Fidel Castro. The game is all about containment. You make sure your rival cannot extend it's influence past its own border and you can strangle it slowly until it submits to you.

So Philippines, pay attention to history, ky kung mag heated competition naning China ug U.S.--apektado kaayo ta.

we will be affected more so, as we align ourselves with a power other than our next door neighbor, instead of standing neutral.

sad thing is that we have no choice...we are under their umbrellas...which side we will be taking on? both of them have great contribution in our economy...
