Dili kaha nag himo2x lang sila ug drama...bacause they cannot accept defeat? bakit nagawa nang Vietnam before na mag champion in 2003 seagames despite the've lag behind at 6th in 2001 Thailand seagames. Ang Philippines is 4th sa Vietnam last games so i think dili kaayo kadudahanl.

Vietnam won more golds because they introduce games which they are really very strong. I just forgot the name of the game but kung sa ato pa mura sya ug parlor game like shatong. But in the SEA games it is allowed because it is a privilege given to a host country. Take for example, dancesports. Its not a regular event in the SEA games but it is allowed because of the preference of the host country, the Philippines.

But the story of the Philippines is different. While we reintroduce wushu, which is our traditional strength, we made unusual succes in diving, karate, fencing and taekwondo, all SUBJECTIVE SPORTS. My God, in past SEA games not only in Vietnam, our fencers have a hard time securing golds. Its been consistent. And I dont think in a span of two years we improve that much considering the low budget that we have for our athletes.

I realy believe we got an extra hand from the officials and referees in securing those "unbelievable" golds.

Cmon man I dared to be different. I am here to present the other side of the coin.Â* The performance is suspicious. I will believe we really improve if the games are held in a neutral venue like brunei or cambodia or laos.

I dont believe this performance. From my desk, the papers would show, what RP team does now is amazing and improbable. Why when SEA games is held in the Philippines, the Philippines who only performs a notch better than Singapore, Brunei, Cambodia and Laos,Â* would suddenly become like USA as to the Olympics, hauling golds like as if it were a gold mine. Why? why? why? we always get number one when the games is held here and suddenly turned into a cellar dweller if the games is held abroad.

Would you mean to say that we only improve if the games are held here and then backslide after?

The same reason why most NBA teams have a better win-lose record at home than on the road. There is what we call home-court advantage.

that thai prime minister is complaining about the recent events sa SEA GAMES... he says that the we're not fostering the ideals of what the Games are supposed to be about... I'm inclined to agree with him...somewhat

I mean, with the home court advantage and other such factors, our atheletes are really opening a big can of whoopa**, but perhaps it would have been more prudent to consider that one of the things we hope to attain through this is fostering good ties with our fellow ASEAN nations...

then again, I would be also to quick to point that this might show our ASEAN neighbors that Filipinos got what it takes to win... how it will be interpreted is a different matter though.

In any competition there will always be a team that will complain that the judging of so and so sport is unfair. Though I could only talk about Taekwondo and Karatedo, it was obvious why we won, the Filipinos were simply just better Jins and Karatekas. Simple.

You say that it was unusual that we won in Karatedo and Taekwondo? When in fact we are considered as one of the major competitors of these sports. Donald Geissler has been winning medals in Taekwondo since 1998, including the World Taekwondo Championships and Gretchen Malalad who also won the gold in the 22nd SEA Games, Noel Espinosa who won the bronze, also won the same medal during the last SEA Games in Vietnam.

Are these the athletes you doubt?

Maybe it is time to consider the track records of these athletes before you accuse them of anything.

Secondly, there are four judges in both competitions. Composed a mix of both local and international officials, including Thailand. To you mean they too were part of this grand scheme to hand the gold medal to Team Philippines? I seriously doubt this.
