We do know Ethan is a runaway who was involved in some war with the Native Americans. He has also mentioned being fascinated by a Anasazi painting. Either he learned lycanthropy—if he has lycanthropy—or he could have been cursed by some Native American.
Also, if you listen to Ethan's lines in the previous episodes, he sounded like he intends to keep Brona. Perhaps, he'll turn her.

Are you referring to Ethan's war story in his show? Vanessa pointed that out in the first episode. She said he couldn't be in that war because he is still a child by then or the war story is just a lie for the show.
"Then I'll love what she becomes." mao man ni tubag ni Ethan kang Malcolm referring to Brona's situation.
Oh well. So far all the werewolf theories are still just theories. Then there's his exorcism skills. Putting his hands inside a wolf's mouth. Waking up in ditches without memories of the night before. Lingering in crime scenes.
Speaking of the mysterious deaths, those seemed to have been sidetracked.
Daghan kaayog mga questions ug story arcs to tie na wala ko kahibaw unsaon na nila pag sigo sa usa ka episode. hahays.
dugay pa man ang season finale,
isip isip sa ta about the Native American mystery
Episode 1
Vanessa - You didn't
tell the truth.
By my reckoning, you were a boy
when General Custer died
and 'tis well known
there were no survivors.
Ethan - What we call a
tall tale, darlin'.
Vanessa - Exceedingly tall.
--------------------------------------
Episode 3
Victor - Killing
redskins more your line?
Ethan - You know nothing about it.
Victor - Whole Indian nations pacified into
nonexistence, what don't I know?
Ethan - How do you know I was in the Indian wars?
Victor - I didn't.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Episode 7
Ethan - You know the saddest thing I ever saw?
When the army pacifies a native tribe,
they take the children away.
They cut off their hair,
which is a source of spiritual
strength to them, you see.
They take away their medicine bags,
they give them new names.
John Smith. William Sherman.
Then they ship them
East to boarding school.
Victor - Awful.
Ethan - That's not the worst.
Sometimes a John Smith or
William Sherman would escape
and make it back to their home tribe.
Well, they've forgotten their language,
their stories.
They are unwelcome.
what do they do?
They don't fit in either world.

**spoiler alert
naunsa man toh ang last ep? mura lageg nahimog exorcist ang chara
cter ni ethan![]()
akong "interpretation" () anang sa "exorcism" performed by Ethan,
remember nga Vanessa is begging him to kill her right then and there,
Si Ethan naay gyud intention to kill her but then siguro because of sa konsenya or whatever
naglisod sya pull sa trigger, then he remembered the St. Jude necklace.
At moments like those nga makapanawag ka ug Santo,
si St. Jude imong tawagon - St Jude patron saint of lost causes and desperate cases.
to quote him
Ethan - Sancti Juda, apostol gloriosi (+ another line) ( sakto bana na spelling?)
sori mao ra akong ma makeout sa iyang Latin, but you can hear that thrice na niya gibalikbalik (+ that another Latin line)
sa akong interpretation haha, mao ni iyang gisulti sa in English
"Holy Jude, Glorious apostle
I seek your help at this hour of need" (repeat 3x)
nganong kahibalo sya ug Latin? But of course.
tldr - not an exorcism ritual. Desperate prayer by a desperate man to the patron saint of the desperate at a desperate time![]()
See you next year.
“Remember us better than we are”
Spoiler: Don't!
