Are we saved by faith alone, or do we need works, too?

Just some honest questions that require honest answer @napoleonblownapart:

1. Do you or do you not agree that faith alone saves?

2 Do you or do you not agree that faith without works is dead?

Same answer as #1.

3. Do you or do you not agree that when you do good work it is not your own merit but that of God who gave you grace?

Agree. After a person is saved, God will work through the believer.

Does that mean, then that good works is a manifestation of genuine faith? If so does that mean that we are saved by faith AND good works?

P.S. At the start of the thread, TS shared it is only through 'faith ONLY' or 'faith AND good works' and there is no other option.

No, because good works follow after a person is saved not a requirement to be saved.

Question lng:

Person A, a Christian, did good deeds/good works. He committed no sin.

A person, despite being a Christian can still sin. Impossible kaayo na wa jud kasala ang tao sa iyang pagpuyo aning kalibutana.

Then Person B, non-Christian, let's say he/she was born into the world without any concept of Christianity or even religion (a mentally-challenged person perhaps or he/she lives in an area where religion is absent) did the same good deeds/works and committed no sin.

Do both go to "heaven"? Or is one better than the other?

well said, so why not skip the faith part and just get right to action? faith is useless w/o good deeds.

there are denominations that believe salvation takes faith AND good works.

again if you take faith but if its not accompanied by good works its still not faith at all so just skip the FAITH indoctrination and go straight to good works.

In the case of CDO/Iligan tradegy, what are we going to do to help?

1.) Pray for them, hope for a fast recovery.
or
2.) Pray for them, and at the same time, donate money/relief goods, or be a volunteer.


I'm not talking about doing something just to get justified or reserve a place in heaven.
I'm talking about what needs to be done, or what is the will of God..

like I said Christendom is entirely divided on this point and each division would quote the Apostles as their point of authority. In other words bai your claim can easily be dismiss as Theological Bias rather than taken to be absolute truth.

Your question can easily be answered this way...if there was no sacrifice ang pultahan sa kaluwasan dili ma abli. Jesus was the key but your footsteps are needed.

my position bai is good works no need for faith. kay bisan na kay pagtoo pero sige gihapon ka og makasala wa gihapon nay polos imong faith. so diretso na sa good works.
